(More customer reviews)This flex cable product is fine, but if you are buying it to resolve an unresponsive touch screen problem with your Samsung Impression A877, there is a chance it MAY NOT solve your problem. I later Bought a digitizer (aka replacement touch screen), which ALSO DID NOT resolve my unresponsive touch screen issue.
It kills me to say this, but my advice (after my having explored ALL ways to retrieve the data) is to get a new Impression where ever you can find it cheapest, but this time- back up all pics, data+ contacts before you loose the ability to access them. And KEEP IT DRY!! :(
*Don't buy used, people will lie to you. FYI: This model has been discontinued.
I love the Impression, but its' fallible touch screen is its' Achilles heel.

LG 410G Flip Phone (TracFone) Review

(More customer reviews)Like many people out there, it seems, I was looking for a successor to one of TracFone's most common phones, the monochrome Nokia 1100. TracFone's lineup has diversified somewhat over the last few years, with phones that range from the minimal Motorola W260g Prepaid Phone (Tracfone) to the robust Samsung T301G Prepaid Phone (Tracfone).
The LG 410 is closer to the lower end of TracFones than the higher end. There is no Bluetooth, no camera, only one built-in game, and no apparent way to add any more. TracFone's data service is 2G, runs about as fast as yesteryears 56K modem, and is limited to a few TracFone sites -- no web surfing here. Of course, people don't buy TracFones for exotic features; there are plenty of other cell companies that offer smartphones and broadband data plans. People instead buy TracFones because they are one of the only cell phone plans available for under ten dollars a month. TracFone is a dirt cheap option for people who only need cell phones once in a while, and for those looking for a basic phone to get the job done the LG 410 is a solid, affordable option.
Owners of older TracFones will be pleased to know that this is certainly a less embarassing phone to carry around than some of TracFone's older models. It's compact, sleek, and has a nice, bright color screen. All the basics for making phone calls, like address books and speakerphone capabilities are here. Calls sound good and the phone has good range. Just as importantly for infrequent TracFone users, the phone holds a charge for a long time. One small but appreciated feature is the phone's external display, which shows time, battery charge, and signal strength when the phone is in its clamshell position. The only serious nitpick I saw specific to this phone was the rather flat button surface, which makes this a less-than-ideal choice for texting. Given the clamshell design, though, this may be unavoidable.
Overall, this is a pretty solid phone, especially for the price, which is about fifteen bucks at the time of this review. Some retailers currently have a bundle for that same price that also throws in a car charger, a hands-free microphone and ear bud, and double minutes for life. Even without the bundle, current TracFone users who transfer their minutes to this phone will get an extra two months to their service, which essentially makes this phone a free upgrade. If you're an occasional cell phone user who just wants a reliable phone to make calls every once in awhile -- and who doesn't care about Bluetooth or other bells and whistles -- this is a great option.

The basic quality of the product is fine but it is not designed properly for this particular phone. The top part of the case even covers up one of the touch buttons and the bottom part of the case does not fit tight. I gave it one star only because Amazon forces you to do so.
I have not yet contacted the seller to see about a refund since the cost was very low to start with. (I might spend more in shipping than it's worth)

Motorola CLIQ2 Android Phone, Smoke Grey (T-Mobile) Review

(More customer reviews)I've had this phone for a month now. I will say this phone was never meant to be a Mytouch 4g killer. You get what you pay for. I went with this phone because i'm silly and don't like typing on my screen even when it's 3.7 inches. T-mobile only has a couple of keyboard phones and the G-2 scared me when i played with a one in a Radio shack because it was a good place to see how the keyboards act with extended over time use.
The phone isn't perfect by any means. I have had it lock up a couple of times where i had to pull the battery twice now but it's always worked well afterwards.
It will get a tick laggy from time to time but that's more on me over working the phone then just fail on the phone's part i think.
Battery life is ok. This is a android phone after all and not many i have read/seen have a great life. This is my 4th one i've tried out so far. and i would say it's the second best life i've had. The other one's i've tried so far is the Cappy from at&t, Htc droid incred, Mytouch slide. Cappy was the best life by far and the Cliq2 is just a tick worse.
The camara works ok. haven't done tons with it but i'm no expert on this.
As far as the speed of the phone i have loaded it down with a few games and they are all on SD card atm. I've ran Asphalt 5 and Raging thunder 2 on the phone. There's very little lag in the games(mostly on the start up of them) but they do run pretty smooth once they get going.
Now i know others are angry with Moto/Motoblur and the way they get left behind when it comes to updates and who knows about this phone. Hopefully they won't but again never know. Motoblur isn't that big of a deal for me really. I like Sense way better but Motoblur doesn't get in the way of things for me. I don't like how clueless i am in just putting something on twitter on Motoblur from a homescreen where as with Htc Sense is easier and faster. Same with Touchwiz.
The phone was built around 2.2 android and is running flash out of box both things that would hopefully help get this phone updates. Yea 2.3 is the newest version of android but i think that's only on a few phones ATm and a few more soonish. If i understood things right with this phone's specs kinda in the same area as the Droid ones i would think this phone would see 2.3 at some point(crosses fingers).
i want to touch on with this phone and this is a minor deal. I'm a android noob when it comes to the ins/outs. Rooting ect. parts but i find the touch screen a bit too touchie. Many times i will try to load up a app from app area and a simple whoops will take me into a app i never wanted to hit. Again this might just be me being all fat fingered and silly but again. very minor deal for me.
Also this is not a 4g phone. even the screen on Amazon says so. It might be a bit faster in a 4g area but who knows. I live in a area that may see 4g in a year or so hopefully and thus why i didn't go with a 4g atm.
Lastly this is a wifi calling phone. I have used it a couple of times and it does use up your minutes. Not the phone's fault for that one. Wifi here in my house is meh. I find the calls hard to hear and generally poor so i turn off wifi for calls. It makes sense why have it. Would be nice if say you're in a town that has wifi but no t-mobile. Kinda extends the range of the network i think but that's the only time i would use it for calls. Phone is nice when in wifi and downloading apps and loading up pages.
So i hope this helps. first review i've ever done. Again this is no uber blow your pants off phone and never meant to be i think. At the time of this writing the phone is 20 bucks on amazon and for the money it's a pretty decent android phone. Who knows how the phone will stand the test of time but i will say this is the first one i'm keeping past the month part because i like it.

I average 250 minutes a month useage. Now for $200.00 for the YEAR, I received 1500 minutes added with the Double Minutes for life totaled 3000 minutes. That is 250 minutes a month at less than $17.00 a month! The reception is good , the voice quality is good, the texting is good and the Bluetooth works with my U-Connect Bluetooth phone system built nto my car's audio system (2010JEEP Wrangler). I can,using the U-Connect Bluetooth system, make VOICE ACTIVATED CALLS on this phone. It has a host of other features...calender, camera etc... This is a GREAT BUY.

Excellent - one of the better phones for reception that I have had.
Speaker Phone
Good quality speaker phone and very simple to activate. Actually, have to be careful if holding the phone can accidentally activate the speaker phone very easily.
Texting
Texting is pretty simple but does take some getting used to. The clear button is on the bottom of the key pad area versus on top in most phones. Nothing a little practice can't overcome.
Battery Life
The standard battery is 2-3 days depending upon usage. I just received my extended battery and expect much better results.
Overall Design
I like it. I am a big fan of the flip phone. This design is a little nicer since you can just push the phone to the left. The only issue I could potentially see is if you are left handed. The way the phone is designed, it works best for right handers.
Update 4/25/07
One thing I just accidentally found out is that the phone has an antenna. Shows you how observant I was when I bought it!!
Overall still very pleased with the phone. My wife especially likes it because the font is larger.

I would still rate this phone 5 stars however, last week I purchased the new Blackberry 8830. I am the type of person who likes a phone that can do pretty much everything and the 8830 fits my needs (push email, games, stable, nice form factor, etc. See my review whenever they decide to post a 8830 on amazon).
The 9400 is a good phone, excellent reception/talk time with extended battery and very good wow factor but the rotation is pretty much just a gimick. From a practicality standpoint it isn't the greatest form. Here is why. 1. The phone is really built for right handers. 2. To call someone you have to rotate the screen, dial and then flip it back. If you don't, you end up holding the phone at an awkward angle so that the speaker can be near your ear. Is this a big deal for me? No because I mainly use bluetooth headsets. This is a nice phone. It does anything and everything you could imagine a cell phone could do...and then some. As an avid user of a Treo (Palm) for years, I was ready for a new handset, and my new job required a Windows Mobile platform. After quite a bit of study, I made the switch to the HTC TyTN II...with no regrets thus far.
The description will give more detail than I could ever give, so suffice it let me highlight a few things:
1> Is a great PHONE. So many of these PDA phones forget what they are first and foremost. While I really liked the form and function of the Palm OS on my Treo, it left a lot to be desired in it's ability to catch and hold a signal. This TyTN II does that really well. Perhaps it's a bit of a carrier issue too, but I've had very few dropped calls in the 2 weeks I've had it.
2> The internal GPS works really well. If you're all about reducing the number of "things" that you carry with you, you've now got a very capable GPS strapped to your belt. Is it as feature rich as a stand-alone GPS? Probably not, but I downloaded the TomTom 6 maps of the US and Canada and it works great.
3> It has a cool feature that lets you take a photo of a business card, and then export that to your contact list with fields populated. Kinda cool and works pretty well.
I recommend this phone highly. It's a few bucks, but if you rely on your phone as a business tool like I do, it's worth the money.

The touchscreen may be cool at first, but sometimes simple tasks such as dialing or saving a number may become annoying, especially if the system gets slower and slower due to apps. The battery life is not too good. I have to recharge the phone daily even if I didn't make a long phone call. I am satisfied with the camera, which produces very good photos in my opinion. What makes this phone great is its size, look and the camera. Although the size makes this phone pretty handy, the touchscreen and the system may not be very convenient especially for basic usage such as phone calls and sms. All in all, I still like it but I think I should have bought the version with integrated keypad.

(More customer reviews)Considering how big my hands are, the Citrus is a very comfortable to hold phone. Its not as slippery as most all other phones Ive had either. It does what the description above says. Ive read reviews on this device that state that the battery life is very weak, which It is. I dont use my phone much during the day (a few phone calls, and texts, maybe google something here or there) and when I get home (sometimes 14 hours after I unplugged it) I have half or slightly less than half of a charge left. This is a little annoying, but I have ordered a car charger (I work for Fed Ex) to solve that problem. There were also complaints of screen lag and issues with the device freezing. To this I say, its a mini computer in the palm of your hand. Think of all the problems there have been with computers over the years, and that technology is decades old at this point. This device does what it says, sure the screen freezing is annoying (only because everyone seems to want things RIGHT NOW!) but this is a really cool phone.
My only complaints are: the camera. There are NO settings for white balance (the description says otherwise, I cant find it) there are no settings for black and white, ISO, timed exposure. Basically you can point and shoot. You cant even edit photos that you have taken. (This was a feature that I LOVED on the Samsung Reality) And there is no flash (Which makes a few apps pointless).
The only other thing that I dislike is that there seems to be no way to transfer downloaded apps to my SD card. And I have yet to find an option that allows me to select the card as my primary save space for apps. Phone also only comes with 256 meg of internal memory, which fills up fast when there are thousands of free apps.
The Citrus was dubbed a starter smart phone. I disagree. It a great smart phone for people that don't want to follow the trend of the Motorola Droid craze. Oh yeah, download the Advance App Killer app and set it to kill apps every thirty minutes and the battery life seems noticeably longer.

(More customer reviews)Bottom Line: a good phone at a reasonable price if you do a lot of mobile e-mail and prefer a physical keyboard. It is as useful for e-mail as a Blackberry, at a much lower price.
I wanted a cell phone that had a large physical keyboard for writing e-mail when I am away from my computer. The Sanyo Incognito has the largest physical keyboard that I have seen on a pocket size phone and it is easy to write even a lengthy e-mail at a good speed.
I have service through Boost/Sprint and have had no problem getting a strong signal, even indoors, in the Houston, Texas area. The Boost version of the Incognito comes with a good app for texting, and it took just seconds to set up my Gmail e-mail account.
The Incognito can be used as a phone with the cover closed. It is an invisible touchscreen until you release the screen lock...then it lights up so you can dial a number. I have set mine to auto re-lock so that the phone doesn't dial numbers while sitting in my pocket...so I have to remember to release the screen lock to answer incoming calls. It also works well as a speaker phone. Open up the phone (it looks like a mini-netbook computer when opened) and you can use voice recognition to call numbers in your contact list. The speaker phone mode works well even if I am five or six feet away from the phone.
The internet browser included with the Boost version of the Incognito is very basic. It works best by setting all of your favorite websites as "Favorites". That way, you can go directly to websites instead of through the clunky browser. I also downloaded the Opera Mini 5 browser and installed it as an app. It works well with many websites, such as ESPN or Google News. Some websites connect as "mini" version formatted to fit a phone screen. Others connect as the full-zize version, and Opera lets you scan across the page and then zoom in to the section you want to read. Opera would not let me enter numbers from the Incognito. The basic Incognito browser would let me enter numbers, such as entering a password for my Amazon.com account.
Videos from YouTube work well, but the Boost Incognito will not play video at sites such as the New York Times because it can not use Adobe Flash.
You can buy a mini-SD card to transfer songs from your computer to the Incognito. It has a very basic camera without a flash. You must open the phone into its "mini-computer" configuration to use the camera and the lens is positioned where your hand is sure to get in the way. That makes the camera pretty much useless.
If your primary use for a cell phone is mobile e-mail, the Incognito is a good alternative to a Blackberry, at a much lower price.

The pros:
* The phone is a good size, small enough to comfortably fit in your pocket, but large enough to see what you're doing with it.
* Battery life is good - I've had it last through an hour-long phone call then a few hours of instant messaging.
* It's sturdy - after almost two years or abuse, there is not a scratch or a crack on it.
The cons:
* The volume does not go up high enough. I have good hearing, but I cannot hear the ringer on maximum volume unless I am somewhere fairly quiet. I also frequently cannot hear what people are saying to me during phone calls. The volume does not adjust based on external noise levels.
* It doesn't have bluetooth. (I don't know why Amazon lists bluetooth headsets as accessories.)
* It doesn't have a place to enter physical addresses or birthdays for your contacts.
* Finally, LG has an issue where buttons get "stuck" in one position. (For example, if you were pushing the left arrow it will sometimes continue going left after you stop pressing the button.) I do not think it is a physical issue with the buttons, but maybe an electrical or software issue. I have had this problem with this phone and also with a LG television. It doesn't happen very often, mostly when playing games. Overall, I would say that this is a tolerable phone, but not one that I would recommend, due to the low volume. If you live/work in a very quiet area, have good hearing, and simply want a sturdy phone with a good battery, this may work for you.

It has all the features I needed, it looks astonishing, it works flawlessly and most importantly it works with a T-Mobile prepaid card which is the best deal for me (I recharge my prepaid card with $50 every 4-5 months) compared to $70/month for an iphone. So I only pay whenever I use it, instead of paying huge amounts of money monthly like most people in US do.
I assume this cell phone is kept hidden to the US market by the wireless carriers as it is obviously a lose-lose for them ... and also a potential iPhone killer...
I am very happy with this purchase, I would recommend it to anyone.

This phone's screen has scratches all ready and I haven't had it very long. The internet is slow and it is more difficult to put music and picture data into it.
