I had troubles at first (My Evo showed it was charging but then would run out of power and die). But I realized through trial and error that you have to turn the battery on first (ie the blue light are lit up), otherwise its not really charging, even if it looks like it is.

It fits very well in my hands and I'm not worried about dropping my phone anymore. It would have to be a direct hit against the screen of the phone on a hard corner somewhere for any damage to happen. (More customer reviews)This product arrived in what appears to be retail packaging, but not one of those plastic packages that can't be opened unless you go at it with an industrial laser or run over it with a tank. The charger was easy to remove from the outer package (I appreciated that). The only-three-stars rating is due partly to the feeling of slight flimsiness when the insert for the Samsung battery is attached to the main housing of the charger. I hope it doesn't loosen up over time.
The charger doesn't seem to come with any instructions. That surprised me a bit. These days most electronic devices come with literature containing tons of safety warnings (don't attempt to use the device while river-rafting; don't attempt to swallow the device without chewing...that sort of thing). Not that it took long to figure out how to use it, but I would have liked to see some information about using the USB port: is it used only for power out to the phone being charged? Or can it also be used for power _in_ from a powered USB port? I'll have to write to Seidio about it.
At first I thought the charger was defective -- the charging light (a red LED; turns green when the battery is fully charged) didn't come on when the device was plugged into an AC outlet. Then I realized that the unit had been shipped with its "AC/USB" slide switch at the USB position. I changed it to "AC" and then the charger worked just fine.
[Edit: one good thing about Seidio: they respond to e-mail inquiries very quickly. Their reply to my question about power-in via USB: "The Multi-Function Battery Charger does have the ability to receive power via USB-USB cable. If you are using a computer to charge your device, you will need to switch the power to USB. If you are using an outlet, you will need to switch to AC and plug the charger directly into the wall."]

(More customer reviews)I got the privacy screen because I recieve a lot of inappropriate jokes and pictures and wanted to make sure they couldn't accidentally be seen by coworkers or my kids. This almost works. The clarity from the front is perfect. The farther to the side you are, the less the screen is visible. At about a 45* angle, you can see a blurry picture, but not read a text message. It's sufficient for what I bought it for. It would have gotten 4 stars if I had know before I bought it that the film would keep me from using my front facing camera. It completely blurs all pics and video taken with that camera because it covers the lense. Maybe an upgrade idea for future designs? Also, I had to use a razor blade to trim the edge - it was just a tiny bit too large and would not lay flat at the edge. Touch screen response is still great.

(More customer reviews)Just got this for my Samsung Fascinate (Verizon) phone. I love the big, bright screen on this phone, but it can kill a battery in less than a day. So, I figured, why be forced to hunt down a micro usb cable, a computer, or a wall outlet every time you need just a little extra juice....this is the perfect solution. It is fairly small, I will either carry in my pocket or belt in situations when I think I may need some extra power. I was just out in a restaurant and my phone died, plugged this thing in and it powered right up and got over 50% charged in less than 1 hour. I plan on testing tomorrow to see how long I will be able to run my phone with just a full charge on the phone and this unit fully charged, I am thinking probably ~4 days, which will be a 400% increase in effective useable life of my awesome phone!!

However, it was difficult to read areas of the screen. I bought it through wireless finest, shipped quickly and was here with in a few days. The online video for replacing was very helpful; although it didn't go over everything my husband said. We bought a set of small screw drivers like suggested since we couldn't find the one's we had. Went together quickly (about 15 mins). Just like new. If it's just a cracked digitizer screen, and it still responds to your touch this is a LOT cheaper than the 'new phone' route we considered. Thanks for sharring the video on replacing the screen.

(More customer reviews)The Evo is a juice hog and when I travel I like to watch videos and listen to music in the airport and on the plane. I had a much more expensive unit from a major company that I accidently left on a plane. Not wanting to pay out that kind of cash again I thought I would give this one a shot. I ran it through a couple of test and it works great. I have an extended 2600 mAh battery in my Evo, I drained it and this unit fully charged it in about four hours. This unit has five power bars to show the charge after the 2600 was charged it still had three lighted. A regular Evo bat is 1500 mAh so it won't take as much energy to charge it up. I played a couple of hours of AVI's, still had three bars on the unit and my phone was fully charged when I finished watching the videos. The only negative issues and why I gave it four stars is that it only charges via USB and it doesn't tell you when it is fully charged, just all five bars keep blinking over and over. Since it doesn't come with documentation I have know way to know if the five bars means it is fully charged or almost there. The only other thing to point out is that the unit I left on the plane and this unit both have buttons on the top that when pressed show how much juice is in the battery, and that is the only function for the one I left on the plane. On this unit it doubles as an on/off switch and you have to hold it down for a second or two to turn it on or off. I didn't get this at first and thought it was a bum unit, once again no documentation. I also choose to use my own chords I had laying around to charge this unit and connect it to my my phone I felt they were a little better quality. If you travel and use your phone for entertainment and need the phone battery for non entertainment or need an emergency battery backup I highly recommend this unit for the price point.
Update: (try at your own risk and I use my own cables) I have a wall charger that will charger a battery while charging my EVO via USB. It seems to charge this unit without issue allowing me to use a wall USB charger rather than the laptop to recharge this anywhere. It works great for me, In the hotel I can charge the phone the old fashion way while charging this unit and a internal back up battery all at the same time.
