I have and use Pogo sketch, Targus, Griffin, a couple of generics and a Boxwave. I LOVE the boxwave and like the pogo for different things. I got this alupen to be able to talk about it and be able to know about as many of these things as I could. I figured being the rubber tipped style I could not go wrong. I was MORE than surprised by how much better this thing works. I don't know why and I don't care why. Even though it has the same tip as the griffin, targus and boxwave, it just IS more sensitive and works easier. I love this darn thing so much I'm getting more colors. EFFORTLESS on an iPad and while the apps for drawing on a Xoom suck, it even makes them feel better than they did with the other instruments. This pen is how a stylus should work.
Personal opinion on this is obviously subjective so note that this is as thick as a AA battery, 4 3/4 inches long (about as long as 2 and a half AA batteries on end.
It feels great in my hand and my girlfriend who has small hands says it feels more natural to her as well. It feels "significant".
It is not heavy as the descriptions may lead you to believe, heavy enough, but there's no "weight" to it that would seem cumbersome or hard to use. It feels as heavy as 2 AA batteries. (I know, I'm beating the battery thing to death).
Its so easy to use that "effortless" is all I keep coming up with when trying to define it. I have thus far used it to sketch, draw and write notes on Penultimate, Noteshelf, Draw!, Sketchbook Pro, , UPad and HW Mail. Results consistent.
I have NOT used it on a phone and it's probably too big for that anyway. This is a tablet device all the way, but that could be different for some people.

Samsung Galaxy Tab (AT&T) Review

Samsung Galaxy Tab (ATandT)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Battery Life: Personally, this has to be on my top 2 priorities. I own several toys/gadgets, great as some may be, once the battery goes out, I'm sorely disappointed. Hate the several hours of wait time for them to charge back up. So they either get very little use or go back in the original package and into the closet. Now this Galaxy Tab I've been using heavily over the past 3 days, during last week's long X'mas holiday, and it still has about 10% charge left in it. This said, it only took about 3.5 hours to re-charge and power it back up to 100%. Excellent.
Portability: Perfect size, perfect screen size for yours truly. I can finally and easily now see a lot of things as compared to my tiny smartphone screen. Fits tightly in my jeans back pocket, but fits nicely in my cargo pants pockets. I now carry it or have it nearby for use all over the house. Also, a quality built, solid product in my humble opinion.
Display: Awesome, just beautiful, 1024X600 pixel res. Turn on any of the live wallpaper screens and its better and/or comparable to my home LED and Plasma TV displays.
Touchscreen: Outstanding. I'm a desktop, mouse-kinda-guy, but am now a touchscreen newbie convert. Go ahead and try this touch pad Tab out at BestBuy or any one of the phone carrier's stores.
Internet: Super fast WiFi surfing. I'm benchmarking this in comparison to my HP 14 inch, 4 GB RAM, dual core, laptop. Excellent on AT&T's basic speed, lightning fast on Cox cable and AT&T's higher U-verse setup. Google search also works on voice command. Haven't had a need to switch to an alternative browser such as Dolphin since the basic browser works just fine for my purposes. Also haven't signed up for a data plan; still using WiFi for everything I've needed or wanted to do.
Front Camera: 1.3 MB only; sweet for taking self-portraits and more using the front display screen. Device is an eye catcher, conversation piece at the clubs & dive bars. LoL. You also can visit YouTube for the vids & how-to's using Fring, Qik, and Skype. Great shame though that all the US carriers dissected the voice calling feature on this device. I am not doing away with my smartphone, but AT&T voice calling service on the GT would have been a nice extra, just in case. Also, note that this AT&T device has a removable/swappable SIM card port.
Back Camera: 3.0 MB only; good indoor quality, better for sunlight/daytime pics. Sample Galaxy Tab pics available at Yahoo's Flickr. Biggie: This is the only tablet out there with an autofocus camera that comes with a flash feature!
Storage: 16 GB internal with up to 32 GB removable/swappable miroSD card; already installed an 8 GB microSD card in my Tab. Prefer using the external card memory for all my stuff versus using the internal available limited storage.
Bluetooth: Super sweet! Easily paired up with GF's and my laptop and our Nokia smartphones. Have moved a bunch of my pics over, both from my smartphone and laptop. More to move over. The Gallery app is great. Thing is, because of the Tab's hi-res screen display, any of the low-res pics I've taken clearly shows the image imperfections when zoomed out. An analogy would be like watching a VHS tape on my 1080 LED screen, not a good quality output display. I now just have to start taking digital pics with my other camera, set maybe at 5 GBs or more res.
Android Apps: Have checked these out some and yet have to find one I'd want to download in the GT. 100,000+ apps; who's got the time for this mega searching?. Not into games, might load a Chess game, but that's about it. Comes installed with 2 icon pages of AT&T's apps, i.e., Maps, Navigation works both touch type or voice command, music, video, MyFiles, Flash support, QikOffice, etc. Also, found very usable loaded Widgets to place in my homescreen, i.e., one-touch for WiFi connection, Bluetooth, refresh, etc. Signed up for a Gmail account, great app for sending out my txt messages and e-mails.
Voice/Video Calls: I've downloaded both Fring and Skype on my Tab to make voice calls or video calls (I'm using WiFi for this). Both apps are loaded in the "Market" app of the Tab. Free calls to other signed up/members. Some charges apply to non Fring or Skype folks. Its all explained in their respective web sites.
Media Hub: Limited movies and not exactly cheap to purchase one.
Lastly, AT&T has excellent on-line GT tutorials & I've also downloaded the user's manual for just about all the important info I need to know. Check out the GT's specs and all it has to offer. If any or all of the above features appeal to your liking, BUY ONE! I highly recommend this product. & you'll also help push to get the economy going!. :^) For the Naysayers out there: There is no such thing, or ever will be, a "perfect" product. Not even Einstein could find a Universal Theory.
Excerpt from CNET's GT review (Oct 2010): In fairness, what we enjoy most about the Galaxy Tab is that it's not trying to exactly copy the iPad's blueprint for success. Sure, Samsung's notepad, calendar, and photo apps look like pixel-for-pixel reproductions of the iPad's, but let's not overlook the fact that the Tab is half the size of the iPad. It's a different type of product that presents a different use case, one geared more for portability. That said, the Android smartphone market seems to cover a lot of this territory already. The Tab is also reaching out to all of the people who winced at the iPad's lack of Adobe Flash support, video camera, memory expansion, and drag-and-drop file support. If these are the features that have been holding you back from purchasing a tablet, then the Tab should be a perfect match.

What's in the Box

Samsung Galaxy Tab, pre-loaded warm SIM, charger, USB cable, quick start guide

AT&T ServicesHigh-speed AT&T 3G Mobile Broadband Network The dual-band 850/1900 MHz 3G network makes it possible to enjoy a variety of feature-rich wireless multimedia services, and gives you the advantage of offering simultaneous voice and data services.

In areas where the 3G network is not available, you'll continue to receive service on the AT&T EDGE network, which offers availability in more than 13,000 U.S. cities and along some 40,000 miles of major highways. It's fast enough to support a wide range of advanced data services, including full picture and video messaging, high-speed color Internet access, and e-mail on the go.
Easy Pay-As-You-Go Data Plan Options
AT&T offers two pay-as-you-go data plan options for the Galaxy Tab--a $14.99 plan for 30 days with up to 250 MB of usage and a $25 plan for 30 days with up to 2 GB of usage. If you use all the data included in your plan before 30 days, you can purchase another pay-as-you go plan. The data plans do not require a long-term contract.

As a courtesy reminder, AT&T will notify you when the 30-day plan is close to expiring or when you are close to depleting the amount of data available in the plan. For additional convenience, these plans can automatically renew every 30 days (when paid for using a credit card or debit card).

You'll also enjoy easy on-device wireless activation and account management. Tapping "Activate" on the AT&T Account Manager begins the quick wireless service activation process. Tapping "Buy More Credit" on the AT&T Account Manager on device (with active wireless service) allows for quick access to view remaining data/time, purchase more data, add a device, or edit information about your account.

Swype Keyboard
An alternative to the Android virtual keyboard, the Swype virtual keyboard allows you to input text by swiping the finger with one continuous finger or stylus motion across the screen keyboard. Based on testing, speed and accuracy are equal to or better than the traditional keyboard-tapping method. You can activate the Swype keyboard by pressing and holding in a text field, waiting for popup to appear, clicking Input Method, and then selecting Swype.

A key advantage to Swype is that by roughly aiming to pass through the letters of the word there is no need to be very accurate, enabling rapid text entry.

Ten One Design Pogo Sketch Stylus for iPad, iPhone, and iPod touch (Silver) Review

Ten One Design Pogo Sketch Stylus for iPad, iPhone, and iPod touch (Silver)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I was skeptical before ordering this. My main goal was to find a stylus with enough precision to use with a painting app for the iPhone called "Brushes". If you happen to be looking for the same, look no further.
The problem with most stylus-like devices for capacitive touch devices such as the iPhone is that the minimum diameter required to register a "touch" is actually quite large. I suspect this was done to lessen the frequency of accidental touches. So, the trick here is to find a stylus that meets the minimum diameter requirements while still delivering the precision needed.
This is where the Pogo Sketch really shines. The barrel of the device is incredibly slim but still comfortable in the hand. The length is also perfect-- just barely longer than the length of an iPhone, it's sure to fit wherever your iphone is stored. The contact point of the device is a small fuzzy head. I'm not sure what the material is but it's slightly squishy. The great part is that the head is small enough that it doesn't obscure the view of what you're touching.
In practice:
Wow. Absolutely smooth. In use, the Pogo Sketch glides across the glass of an iPhone. There is just the tiniest bit of drag, but it feels very natural. Next, pressure: This is very important. Little pressure is needed to register a touch on the device. The original Pogo Stylus really lacked in this area, you have to press quite hard which can be uncomfortable for long periods of use.
Conclusion:
If you're looking for a stylus for any of the painting/drawing apps for the IPhone/iPod Touch, this is really top notch. If you're looking for a stylus for day-to-day use of your iPhone/iPod Touch, IMHO, you should really just use the best natural stylus available- your index finger.
Pros:
Super slim form, precise
Little pressure needed
Glides easily
Cons:
I can't really think of any. This exceeded my expectations. I suppose I could say something about the price being a little high, but it's a niche market.

Ten One Design Pogo Stylus for iPhone 3G, 3G S (Black) Review

Ten One Design Pogo Stylus for iPhone 3G, 3G S (Black)
Average Reviews:

I tried several different iPhone styluses and this one is by far the best. The rubber tipped ones are not responsive enough and require too much pressure. This velcro-tipped Pogo stylus works great. You don't need to push hard on the screen and the size makes typing more efficient than using your fingers.
There are only two drawbacks - the price is very high, but you do get what you pay for and the cheaper styluses are not as good; also the clip only works on the base unit, so you can not clip the stylus to your iPhone if you have it in a case. They shoud make an adjustable size clip so it will fit over a slim case.

Bodyguardz Scratch Proof Transparent Film Case for BlackBerry Pearl 8100 Review

Bodyguardz Scratch Proof Transparent Film Case for BlackBerry Pearl 8100
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
The film went on very well... Several weeks later, there are no scratches at all, it remains perfect just as it went on the first day.
Only complaint (why I gave a 4): The screen protector piece is not the same material, it relies on static adhesive rather than sticky glue. This resulted in having to slide it back on rather often. (it also seemed to scratch)
Problem solved though after an email or two to NLU, they whipped up a new piece relying on the sticky glue and quickly sent it to me, free of charge. This new piece protects the screen perfectly.
In its current state, it's definitely a 5 star.

Universal Touch Screen Stylus for Apple iPhone / Touch, Silver Review

Universal Touch Screen Stylus for Apple iPhone / Touch, Silver
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This "stylus" will be okay for entering emails and other virtual keyboard stuff, but that's it. You cannot use it for scrolling because you would apply so much pressure and friction that it would remove the rubber tip entirely. So, it cannot eliminate smudges like the description says, you'll still have to touch the screen. You also have to apply what I would consider an excessive amount of pressure in order to make the phone recognize the stylus. From what I've seen there are better iphone Stylus on the market. I was just going cheap. I've seen better ones listed on thinkgeek.

Just Mobile AluPen Stylus for iPad, iPhone, iPod Touch and Other Touch Screens (Red)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
The Alupen is all in all a very nice tool. I got it for use with my iphone. It is made very well and has a great, solid feel in your hand. It comes with a nice leatherlike sleeve to store it in when not in use which is nice to protect the snazzy color finish. It's just a little over 4 inches long, so compact enough to go with the iphone, but not so small that it is difficult to use. I got it primarly to use in sketching or handwritten notes. It writes with reasonably good accuracy...definitely more precise than using a finger, though misses sometimes...and sometimes it does seem to have "dead spots" where when it hits certain parts of the screen it won't write at all. Haven't found a rhyme or reason for that yet...maybe it's where I've smudged the screen with my finger? The tip seems to be rather airy/hollow, so maybe needs a little more filler to aid in "conductivity"? But, it doesn't scratch the screen at all, and is nice if you want to limit screen smudge. This is the first stylus I've tried, so can't compare it to another, but I am happy with this purchase and would get another one because I really like the thick pencil like design and quality craftmanship that went into this product.

I use this with an iPod touch 2g at work when my hands are dirty. The description for this stylus doesn't say exactly what you can do with this. What it does it does well. For selecting apps or items on menus it worked 99 out of a 100 times with minimal pressure. If you want to draw with this it won't work easily because of the high resistance of the tip's material. It's very difficult. However, scrolling does work when I use single swipes. More than anything it just took a bit of getting used to it. For the price it's a good way to keep the screen clean and type more accurately.

I have been using a Pogo Sketch for quite some time and I can assure you that the Targus stylus beats the Pogo and every other stylus hands down! In fact, I recently was employed by one of the largest wireless carriers in their marketing department and worked closely with the person responsible for buying all accessories that are sold in our stores. She had tested and trialed dozens of styluses a d had determined that pogo was the best available stylus at the time. Last month, I visited her and showed her the Targus stylus. Like me, she was blown away. She is now going to contact Targus for samples to put through their tests. It works great with iPhone and iPad -- and especially great with Penultimate. It is high-quality and feels great in my hand. It is as thick as a normal ballpoint pen, and the clip is made of sturdy metal (not cheap plastic like the Pogo). The tip is soft rubber, but not at all sticky like some other inferior rubber styluses). Using this on an ipad is so silky smooth and a pleasure to use. Buy this, you will not be disappointed!!

Hey Folks this is the smoothest stylus that I have ever owned. If you're looking for something that works with the iPad 2 then you have found it. I have purchased every version of stylus on the market and none of them work. This one does I promise. The only thing with this is the lanyard not sure what it is for or how it would connect to anything. I removed mine and just use the pen clip.
