(More customer reviews)I wanted to improve the accuracy of text entry into my iPhone 3G. Just received and tested this stylus. Found it actually less effective as an input device. I haven't tried it without my screen protector (thin acetate) simply because I wouldn't go without this. Perhaps the stylus would be more effective but in my opinion it should work as advertised with the protector in place. You have to press too hard to achieve a response from the controls and the rubber tip definitely won't last - it peels like a pencil eraser and will likely detach from its glued adhesion to the pen body. This was only a few bucks so worth trying from my perspective but I'd pay more for the right product - this ain't it. We'll see if Orion Gadgets can recommend a better one or give me a refund. It works but very poorly - I'm sticking with my fingers for now.

Ten One Design Pogo Sketch Stylus for iPad, iPhone, and iPod touch (Silver) Review

(More customer reviews)I was skeptical before ordering this. My main goal was to find a stylus with enough precision to use with a painting app for the iPhone called "Brushes". If you happen to be looking for the same, look no further.
The problem with most stylus-like devices for capacitive touch devices such as the iPhone is that the minimum diameter required to register a "touch" is actually quite large. I suspect this was done to lessen the frequency of accidental touches. So, the trick here is to find a stylus that meets the minimum diameter requirements while still delivering the precision needed.
This is where the Pogo Sketch really shines. The barrel of the device is incredibly slim but still comfortable in the hand. The length is also perfect-- just barely longer than the length of an iPhone, it's sure to fit wherever your iphone is stored. The contact point of the device is a small fuzzy head. I'm not sure what the material is but it's slightly squishy. The great part is that the head is small enough that it doesn't obscure the view of what you're touching.
In practice:
Wow. Absolutely smooth. In use, the Pogo Sketch glides across the glass of an iPhone. There is just the tiniest bit of drag, but it feels very natural. Next, pressure: This is very important. Little pressure is needed to register a touch on the device. The original Pogo Stylus really lacked in this area, you have to press quite hard which can be uncomfortable for long periods of use.
Conclusion:
If you're looking for a stylus for any of the painting/drawing apps for the IPhone/iPod Touch, this is really top notch. If you're looking for a stylus for day-to-day use of your iPhone/iPod Touch, IMHO, you should really just use the best natural stylus available- your index finger.
Pros:
Super slim form, precise
Little pressure needed
Glides easily
Cons:
I can't really think of any. This exceeded my expectations. I suppose I could say something about the price being a little high, but it's a niche market.

Ten One Design Pogo Stylus for iPhone 3G, 3G S (Black) Review

(More customer reviews)I tried several different iPhone styluses and this one is by far the best. The rubber tipped ones are not responsive enough and require too much pressure. This velcro-tipped Pogo stylus works great. You don't need to push hard on the screen and the size makes typing more efficient than using your fingers.
There are only two drawbacks - the price is very high, but you do get what you pay for and the cheaper styluses are not as good; also the clip only works on the base unit, so you can not clip the stylus to your iPhone if you have it in a case. They shoud make an adjustable size clip so it will fit over a slim case.

I got this stylus in order to be able to better show recorded presentations and tutorials of Android applications that I create (it's much skinnier than my finger, so it doesn't get in the way of the image nearly as much). It works great. The length is appropriate, though for my purposes a little longer would be better. It's long enough that holding it like a pencil allows the full support of the joint between my thumb and index finger, though in my presentations I need to hold it between just my fingers with no support in order to get my hand out of the way of the image.
It does require a little bit of pressure (really, just a little bit) in order to work, but it's very easy to get used to this.
Due to the way the Nexus One's four dedicated buttons are designed, you need to touch them near the top (along the bottom of the screen itself). You don't notice this when using your fingers because they are bigger and touch the sensitive area anyway, but this is much more apparent when using a stylus.
The lanyard that it comes with has an interesting plastic end that fits into a 3.5 mm headphones jack. It's meant to be detached from the jack when you're using it (the lanyard is only a couple of inches long), so this is meant for storing and carrying the stylus. This would be great for a tablet, but for a phone that I carry in my pocket, it isn't all that useful (it's there because it's the same product that they label as "for the iPad").
Edit (6/9/2011): I now use (and highly recommend) the "Kensington Virtuoso Touch Screen Stylus and Pen." It's longer, and also has a pen.

At first, I didn't have a screen protector and even without one, there is a slight delay before the iPhone recognizes it and you can use it. Only had it for a month and no problems, though I worry about the longevity of the tip which is a thick, spongee substance. I used it for note taking mostly as my phone is predominately for business use and it worked well. Even though the tip is still smaller than most of our own fingertips, my wish is that it could still be made smaller to better use these applications. Also, I recently bought an otterbox case and the stylus will not work at all through their screen protector on their case.

(More customer reviews)I have both an iPod Touch and a 3G iPhone and wanted a stylus for a few games where my hand blocked the view of the screen.
I found these stylii and thought they might be up to the task. I was almost correct. Read on.
The stylus is a few inches long and fits easily in ones hand. The clip is part of the body of the stylus. There's no means of attaching the stylus to the side of the iPod/iPhone unless you attach it to your case. Some styluses come with a clip for this purpose. The tip is made out of soft rubber.
Usability isn't quite as good as I'd like. The soft rubber tip requires a bit of pressure in order to distort enough for the sensor to "see" it. That means you have to mash down harder than you'd normally do with your finger. That also means there's a potential for fatigue. The bigger issue is that sliding certain on-screen controls is nearly impossible. You're mashing down so hard that the friction of the tip keeps the stylus from being able to slide.
In addition to the problems this particular design has, all styluses will have problems with multi-touch gestures such as pinch and un-pinch.
