(More customer reviews)-Even with a brilliant huge 4" display, it feels really comfortable and light in hand thanks to its very sleek design.
-8.1 MP camera is one of the best you can find on smartphones.
-Android market has all the apps I need - love it.
-Its music player simply rocks. Stock headphone delivers clean and crisp bass -which is quite a rarity. Watching youtube and other videos on it over 3G/wifi is really an awesome experience.
-Android 1.6 works just fine for me as I'm used to +/- zooming. And because of the big high resolution display, I don't have to zoom that often. I will probably not buy anything with smaller display again. It's so much fun to browse on a 4" display.
-Battery life is above the average. If you use your 'smartphone' quite often every day, you've to plug it in every night anyway.
-Its trademark features timescape and mediascape are really interesting. They put together all my daily and social activities in one single place.
Overall, I'm very satisfied with this phone.

(More customer reviews)I've been holding off my upgrade for a while waiting for the next iphone (iphone4) or android to hit ATT. I went to the ATT store early this morning to finally decide between the iphone 4 and the captivate. I loved the feel of both units, but the captivate's curved body feels sleaker in the hand. While I was very impressed with crispness of the iphone screen; I powered on the captivate and I was even more blown away by the vibrance of the super AMOLED screen. I have spent all day playing around with the phone and have not noticed any sluggishness whatsoever; which was something I feared when looking through online reviews.. I mean c'mon it has the fastest processor out there. Also I read a blog that was spreading a rumor that the Galaxy S phones have a death grip like the iphone 4.. this is completely false as I live in New York where the iphone 4 has problems and have not been able to replicate the effect using multiple grips. So in conclusion I can't say that the phone is an iphone killer for sure.. but it is in my book. It all comes down to personal preferance. I have used the iphone os before and compared to the customizability of Android it comes off as old, locked-to-a-grid and bland. For your referance, I'm 20 years old; and I'm loving where ATT is going with android.
Things I've noticed:
Doesn't have computer software support yet, unless you search for the Samsung Kies software on your own. It detects my device and is compatible.
At first I thought that the USB wouldn't snuggly fit the phone but then I realized that I didn't open the sliding door all the way. But it fits perfectly fine when it is open.. my bad.
The ATT stock apps can not be deleted from the apps menu, but they can be removed from the home screens. It kind of increases the number of items in the menu by alot, but atleast some of those apps I might actually use.
Updates:
You can download full office productivity suite in the Android Marketplace for FREE. It is called "quickoffice for captivate," and it syncs with your Google docs account and dropbox. I think that it is only free for certain phones as it is named "quickoffice for captivate" on my phone, but on my friend's droid it reads just quickoffice and costs around 10 bucks.
I love using this phone for taking video, in good light of course ;). The sound quality comes through very clear as long as you don't block the mic at the bottom.

An alternative to the Android virtual keyboard, the Swype virtual keyboard allows you to input text by swiping the finger with one continuous finger or stylus motion across the screen keyboard. Based on testing, speed and accuracy are equal to or better than the traditional keyboard-tapping method. You can activate the Swype keyboard by pressing and holding in a text field, wait for popup to appear, click Input Method, and then select Swype.

In the image to the left, the word "quick" was generated from tracing the path shown above in a fraction of a second, by roughly aiming to pass through the letters of the word. A key advantage to Swype is that there is no need to be very accurate, enabling very rapid text entry.

(More customer reviews)I kept this case because I like the protection that the leather provides to the Vibrant. All phones will eventually hit the pavement, this case should allow the phone to survive a fall. But I do have some complaints about the case.
#1. There is no hole for the USB port. So you have to open the case to recharge the phone.
#2. The pin for the belt clip attaches to the center of the case. This makes the phone spin on an axis while it is attached to the belt clip.
#3. The plastic belt clip broke after 4 days of use. I now carry the phone in my pocket.

(More customer reviews)I bought the Invisible Gadget Guard screen protector and put it on today. I am always able to put screen protectors on so perfectly that you can never tell they are even on.
1) I washed my hands throughly.
2) I ran a hot shower to pull all the dust out of the air in the bathroom.
3) I cleaned with the microfiber and applied the Invisible Gadget Guard screen protector so evenly and carefully.
In the first few days the screen protector was grippy, looked hazy and reduced the responsiveness of the soft keys. After a week or 2 the haziness cleared up, it is no longer grippy and the keys became more responsive.
So I LOVE IT! it has stayed on and looks better than any of the dozens of screen protectors I have used in the last 10 years on dozens of devices. This will be the screen protector I choose for ever device I own from now on.

Seidio SURFACE Case for Samsung Captivate (Black) Review

(More customer reviews)I purchased this case off eBay a month ago. It's a decent case, better then the OEM Galaxy S case sold by AT&T. That case is bulky and the finish makes it difficult to remove from your pocket. The Seidio on the other hand has a rubber texture which provides the right amount of grip. However after a month of use, the both halves of the case have become loose and come apart quite easily. I had to put a piece of foam tape inside the case to tighten it. For the amount of money one pays for this case, this is unacceptable. The case should have been designed correctly to begin with. I purchased a Body Glove Mirage case, which is one piece and should do the job.

(More customer reviews)Just got this for my Samsung Fascinate (Verizon) phone. I love the big, bright screen on this phone, but it can kill a battery in less than a day. So, I figured, why be forced to hunt down a micro usb cable, a computer, or a wall outlet every time you need just a little extra juice....this is the perfect solution. It is fairly small, I will either carry in my pocket or belt in situations when I think I may need some extra power. I was just out in a restaurant and my phone died, plugged this thing in and it powered right up and got over 50% charged in less than 1 hour. I plan on testing tomorrow to see how long I will be able to run my phone with just a full charge on the phone and this unit fully charged, I am thinking probably ~4 days, which will be a 400% increase in effective useable life of my awesome phone!!

(More customer reviews)I have the Samsung GalaxyS on a T-Mobile account. I found this product while researching ways to clean the screen on the GalaxyS.
The screen protector went on very easily, fits great, looks like a mirror when the device isn't lit up, is invisible when the device is lit up, and phone functionality so far is just the same. I love it. It comes with a cleaning cloth that will fit in the little pocket in my purse where the phone goes.
I also recommend Windex electronics wipes to clean the GalaxyS screen. I am a woman and I wear makeup, which plasters the screen every time I put this to my face for a phone call. Dry wipes that get rid of dust are missing the point - they just smear oil and makeup. I can get by day to day rubbing it with a cloth (a used dryer sheet works pretty well, so do my jeans on the weekends), but every now and then it needs more. One good swipe with a Windex cloth and it was CLEAN. I was looking around for something else to use up the Windex cloth on. The Windex cloth is wet, but using it doesn't really get the phone wet.
It's very nice to have a mirror, phone, Kindle, games, and PDA all rolled into one very cool device.

(More customer reviews)WE ARE VERY DISAPPOINTED IN THIS PRODUCT DUE TO THE FACT THE BELT CLIP HAS ALREADY BROKEN OFF BECAUSE THE MANUFACTURES IN CHINA MAKE IT FROM THE CHEAPEST PLASTIC INSTEAD OF A STRONG METAL. IT IS A DIFFICULT ITEM TO REMOVE ONCE IT IS ON THE PHONE. THE BELT CLIP IS STRONG AND STAYS PUT ONCE PUT INTO PLACE. AMERICANS NEED TO BE MAKING THESE PRODUCTS. IT DIDN'T TAKE LONG TO RECEIVE THE PRODUCT BUT IT IS TAKING ALMOST 2 WEEKS FROM THE REPORTED BROKEN BELT CLIP TO RECEIVE THE NEW ONE. THAT IS POOR WARRANTY DEPARTMENT HANDLING FOR REPLACEMENT. IT WAS A GIFT FROM MYSELF TO MY SON BUT MYSELF I AM DISAPPOINTED WITH THIS PRODUCT.
