The BEST case money can buy. Dropped phone a number of times, and case hasn't even popped off like the cheaper cases, no damage to phone and very little on the case. So minor, you have to look pretty hard to find the little dings and dents. I highly recommend this case for everybody, especially if you're rough on phones like me.

Seidio SURFACE Case for Motorola Droid (Sapphire Blue) Review

Seidio SURFACE Case for Motorola Droid (Sapphire Blue)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This is the third shell that I have gotten for my Droid, and it is a keeper!
First, the set up:
When I bought the phone, I got the Body Glove case that the Verizon store had available. It is an excellent shell - it fits well, has great grip, is rugged and provides very good protection for the Droid. My only real problem with it is that it is BULKY. It adds significantly to the size of the Droid both physically and visually. I do notice this bulk in my pocket too. It even made it somewhat difficult to remove from my pocket. I wanted something not so bulky that might still provide some protection for the phone when I drop it.
Next, I bought a cheap shell that is similar to the Seidio. It was OK, but far from perfect. The big improvement was the lack of bulk, but... The back was warped and did not quite snap on completely. The front was OK, but broke after a few weeks of use. There HAS to be a better shell out there.
Now for the Seidio...
I have done quite a bit of research on-line and there is a lot of praise for Seidio. There were some concerns for the Seidio Innocase Surface, as apparently some of the first production run was not quite right. It was reported that the top did not fit as it should. As I understand it, Seidio replaced the defective parts promptly and without any haggling or hesitation. Great customer service and attitude. In spite of the possible fit issues, I decided to try the Seidio Innocase Surface out for myself. Since I have an extreme aversion to paying full price for anything, I shopped around and found a good deal here on Amazon. I paid my money (not cheap, but the best rarely ever is), waited a few days and...
Nice case!! Nicely packaged, easy to remove from packaging (I wish more vendors would package this well) and good looking. Of course, I promptly removed the Body Glove shell from the phone and started to fit the Seidio to it. The first shock (yes, SHOCK) was when I tried the front piece. I looked at it and determined the correct orientation. There is a small notch in the bottom end for the microphone and an indentation at the top for the power/lock button. I placed it over the Droid and it practically installed itself! REALLY... I aligned it on the phone and just barley touched it and it snapped on. That was too easy. I looked closely and it looked to be in place. I pulled at a bit and it did not come off. Yes, the fit was PERFECT and it locked in place with incredible ease. Just to be sure, I removed it and re-installed it. Still just as easy - just lay it in place and it snaps on with very little pressure. No, it does not come off as easily as it goes on. It does not come off unless deliberately removed. The back is a perfect fit too, but does require just a little more pressure to get it sapped on.
This shell is quite slim. Much less bulky than the Body Glove, not much more so than the bare Droid. Nice fit in the hand, nice fit in the pocket. It has a nice soft feel to the surface even though it is plastic, not rubber. The grip is not as good as the rubber surface of the Body Glove, but it is similar to the bare Droid. It looks good, fits PERFECTLY and handles well. My biggest quibble with it is that it is not quite as easy to use the volume buttons. It does not block the volume rocker, but is close enough at the ends to make using the volume rocker feel a bit awkward compared to the other cases I have used that have a little bit more clearance at the ends of the volume rocker switch. I guess that I am just used to pressing on the very ends of the rocker switch. Easy to get used to, and a very minor quibble. This shell does not interfere with any of the other keys, switches or buttons on the phone. There is no binding or rubbing when sliding the keyboard out or in. You could hardly ask for a better design and fit.
Last but not least, after four weeks of use, this shell still looks almost pristine. There are no scratches on the surface, and just a few minor nicks that you can feel and have to look closely to see on the exposed edge of the case at the bottom end of the phone. I find this to be pretty impressive, as my pocket is not exactly the friendliest place to reside - what with all of the other things that get stuffed in there on a regular and irregular basis.
To sum it up: If you want a shell to protect your Droid from daily use and mild abuse, but don't want the bulk of some SERIOUS armor, DO go ahead and pay the money for the Seidio Innocase Surface. The others may be cheaper, but what I tried was not worth it. Just skip right past the other slim look-alikes and me-toos and get the Seidio - you will not be disappointed.

Amzer Rubberized Snap On Crystal Hard Case for Motorola Droid A855 (Black) Review

Amzer Rubberized Snap On Crystal Hard Case for Motorola Droid A855 (Black)
Average Reviews:

I bought this on Amazon for my Motorola Droid. I reviewed the product here and on the manufacturer website. The manufacturer has this product AND a silicone shell. The silicone shell was out of stock, so I chose to try this.
Pros: The shell is a hard case that would protect the phone should you drop the phone.
Cons: Unfortunately, I have many more. They are all personal preference, but justify my rating. First, the casing was slightly difficult to attach to the sliding screen. Just when I thought I had it on, it would pop off. Granted, it only took an additional 5-10 minutes to get it on right, but I was continually leery that it would pop off again. Second, with the hard shell on, it made it more difficult to use the to row of keys on the slide out keyboard. I don't have long fingernails and typically use the pads of my fingers or the tips to type/text. I found that when I would try and use the top row, my fingers would be displaced and I regularly hit two keys (the one I was aiming for and the one below it) or the key below the one I was aiming for. The extra bulk of the shell pushed my finger away from its target. Third, on my phone, when I attached the shell, the slide action on the phone became much more rigid and felt like it was jammed or scraping somewhere. I can't identify where, though, because I did not see any marks. And finally, after having the shell on for ~3 days, I noticed that in some areas, the black (insert color) coating on the shell was coming off to reveal the white plastic underneath. I keep the phone in my pocket, so the fact that it started to wear so early on was concerning.
I may try and get the silicone case in the next few weeks, but am not pleased with this purchase. I'll post an update if the silicone case if worth it so those who read this review can compare.

Three LCD Screen Guards / Protectors for Motorola Droid A855 Review

Three LCD Screen Guards / Protectors for Motorola Droid A855
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
These screen guards arrived undamaged in a flat, business sized envelope. When I opened the package for them, the three guards were sandwiched between the two layers of the cardboard labeling. The microfiber cleaning cloth was there also. However, contrary to the instructions on the package label, my package did not contain the squeegee for removing the bubbles. That was not a problem, as I used as a substitute one of the key-ring tabs for a store affinity program, which worked just as well.
1st attempt:
1st issue: It should be labeled clearly which side of the protector is the adhesive side which should be applied to the screen. Both sides had a protective cover, which was good. One tab was labeled 1 and the other as 2. Both said to remove before applying. I first had to figure out which was the non-sticky side since nothing on the label indicated which was which.
2nd issue: Unless one has very small fingers, it is difficult to use the tiny cloth to wipe the screen without touching it.
3rd issue: As others have said, the alignment of the guard with the screen is tricky. Getting it in place while peeling the protective layer is finicky work. My first attempt wound up having dust under it, making a couple of bubbles that could not be removed. Also, by removing the outer layer of protective plastic, it made it difficult to avoid scratching the plastic of the guard. After several attempts to reposition the first guard, and unable to avoid touching the underside while attempting to remove the dust spots, I removed it so I could try again with a new one.
2nd attempt:
Using the lessons I learned with the first one, I did not remove the plastic protecting the outside surface. I re-cleaned the screen and carefully positioned the second one, peeling the protective layer for the adhesive side as I went. This time, I had the alignment correct and there were no dust particles visible.
After using the card to remove the remaining air bubbles, I removed the protective plastic from the outside. I needed to work a couple of tiny bubbles from the corner which had been covered by the tab and not visible. After that, I had a clear, unscratched guard on my new Droid. I hope it will stay there and perform well. That is, of course, something that will only be evident with time. I still have one unused guard in reserve for when the installed one finally needs replacing.

Skinomi TechSkin - Screen Protector Shield for Samsung Epic 4G Review

Skinomi TechSkin - Screen Protector Shield for Samsung Epic 4G
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
UPDATE #2:
Like another reviewer, my skin, being a tad too long, got dirt underneath and made the Android touch-sensitive buttons unresponsive. I told them to forget about even sending me a new one unless they fixed the length issue. Skinomi agreed to send me a new one (odd: my original order shipped Amazon Prime 2-Day but the replacement was USPS First Class Mail). The replacement skin they sent is completely different. It has two cutouts at the top, one on the left and one on the right, forming a tab below the speaker grille. My original skin only had one large cutout for the grille. Skinomi's website confirmed that this was in fact the correct skin to apply. Now the skin is a tad too short instead of too long! This should prevent dirt from getting under the skin and uncovers the front-facing camera, which could potentially affect quality, but definitely doesn't cover the entire front as desired. It also makes application difficult (hold with one hand, do your best to squeegee with the other). Why Skinomi made these cutouts the way they did, to expose some LEDs, I don't know, and IMHO it's not the smartest move.
Another note about their "Lifetime Warranty" - you pay $5 shipping and you also must send the old skin back. If you don't send the old skin back, you won't receive any future warranty requests. Assuming you stick this thing in a USPS First Class Mail envelope, you're out over 50% of your initial cost. This doesn't change my review per se, it's just FYI.
Unfortunately for you, Skinomi, I must lower my rating to a 3 from my initial 4. I'm not sure what's going on over there but I suggest one of your designers actually *buy* an Epic 4G and measure it. Heck, you can return it to Sprint for a refund - $35 restocking fee after 30 days! Do your customers a favor and tell them when you change the design.
*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*
I just finished installing this skin on the screen of my new Samsung Epic 4G. The screen protector I bought from Sprint only covered the display portion, not the touch-sensitive Android controls or the rest of the glass front. This skin is also $10 less than the junk I bought from Sprint. I feel like the skin might be a hair or two too long for the device as it appears to ride up on the bottom beveled edge of the Epic. I can't move it up anymore or I will cover the speaker. Installation was easy enough: spray your fingers and the skin with the included solution, place the skin on the device, and then use the included card to push out excess liquid. The instructions say that microbubbles and streaks will disappear within a few days...here's hoping so, I will update my review in a few days to let you know. My only other gripes are that when I was pushing the liquid out with the card, the card jabbed into the skin, leaving a dent. This skin is supposed to prevent against scratches like this so I'll give it a few days while the bubbles are popping to see what happens. There was also no lint-free cloth included. I have one from another device, but if you don't have one, you'll need to buy one to install the protector.
Pros:
* Inexpensive
* Easy to install
* "Lifetime warranty"
* Free shipping
* Made in USA
Cons:
* Maybe a hair too big
* Possible dent during install
* No lint-free cloth included, though an essential part of the installation
UPDATE #1:
I was able to remove and reinstall this skin with seemingly no problems several days after installation. The microbubbles and streaks DID disappear after a few days, as advertised, with 95% of the bubbles disappearing after 24 hours. Yes, I do believe the "dent" is real, but I also don't care too much, that is what the protector is for. There are also some from hitting my keys in my pocket. I still feel the protector is slightly too long and is riding up on the bevel.

Seidio Innocase Surface Case for Motorola DROID (Black) Review

Seidio Innocase Surface Case for Motorola DROID (Black)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Before I talk about the Seidio case itself, I want to talk about my experience with my search for a case leading up to purchasing the Innocase Surface case.
On the day I bought my new Droid, the Verizon people talked me into adding this "package" deal that included car kit and a Body Glove Hard Snap-On Cover Shell Case for Motorola Droid A855 cover. The guy at the counter even had it on his belt clip and showed it to me - I though it looked good!
I get home, play with the phone a bit and I go to put on the Body Glove case. I would say I was content with it. Although a tad bulky for my taste, protecting the phone is what matters most. However, there is something else that matters to me with this phone, and that is the use of the physical keyboard. The first time I tried to slide the screen part out to use the keyboard, it wouldn't move. I took a look on the side behind the slider part where the case's "latches" (that hold it on) are and I was a little surprised to see that they were so big and bulky that it was blocking the slider from sliding. This is a HUGE flaw on the part of Body Glove and I don't understand how those cases made it out of the factory and through quality control inspection.
When I went back to Verizon to return it, I talked to the same guy who had that case on his Droid. Needless to say, he initially disagreed with me when I told him it didn't fit the phone properly. He even looked at his phone and said "yeah, it catches a bit, but it works just fine after a while of working it in". I said... "um, NO..." and pointed out to him on HIS phone how the case was slightly pushing the slider up and on an angle when he slid the screen out. He just shrugged, didn't ask any more questions and refunded me the $30 or so. I didn't think I needed to explain it any more, but I was not interested in testing the strength of the slider by "forcing" it open over those latches, nor was I interested in a case that would require "working in". No thanks!
I then went on a search for the right case for my new phone, hoping to find one that actually fit properly and protected the phone. I read a lot of forums and discussions on the subject. Many people were actually blaming Motorola for developing a phone that wasn't "case friendly". HA! I kind of thought the same thing for a while..... but then I found some discussions on this new case by Seidio, and every review I read praised it. I didn't read one negative review on the case, which intrigued me more.
After about a week of researching the case, I took the plunge and ordered the Seidio Innocase Surface case, praying it would work out. I usually prefer to see a case in person before I buy. This time I went with a few pics online and a plethora of positive reviews.
I received the case, applied it to the phone and all I could think was... This case is PERFECT!!! I was SO relieved and happy to find one that works the way I wanted/needed.My needs and wants were to have a case that would allow me to slide out the screen with NO added friction, protects the corners,edges and back of the phone and that didn't have a bulky knob for a belt clip or holster.
The surface is hard, yet soft to the touch - almost like the phone back itself. The case doesn't make the phone look bulky, but it does make somewhat of a "square" phone look a bit more rounded contoured. It gives the phone a slim look, which is a 'plus' compared to most phone cases out there. It slides in my pockets just fine without catching or sticking and it doesn't seem too difficult to remove it, if needed.
The case picks up fingerprints a bit, but that doesn't really bother me too much. I just care about the screen being clean and make sure that is also protected. I use an InvisibleShield screen protector, which is the perfect combo with this phone.
After 2 weeks of use, frequent trips to work and on the road, I have use this phone with the case on and have had no issues with the top part popping off or any other mechanical issues, as what many others have complained about with other cases. I will say that I have not (yet) dropped the phone, so I can't say what happens or how the case holds up if dropped. I'm not particularly interested in testing that scenario with this phone. :) But if I were to take a guess, I believe this case will do a great job holding up to the impact and, at the very least, take enough of the blow to save the phone if it's the normal drop from your waist or counter top.
The Seidio case is the only case that I know of that fits the Motorola Droid properly and the only case I would recommend to any Moto Droid users. Not only for the fit, but for the soft-touch feel, ease of access to the physical keyboard and side controls/buttons and also a slim and sleek look overall. I couldn't be happier!
*** Additional information (March 6, 2010) ***
I know many people wonder about the compatibility of their Droid with this Innocase cover and the docking station that Verizon offers. Well, although it has been confirmed that the phone with Seidio case attached will NOT fit into the Verizon (Motorola) dock, Seidio has in fact made their own docking station and you can find it on their site and it's called the Seidio Innodock. (I had a link here, but Amazon would not allow it to be posted.)
This docking station will allow you to dock the phone with OR without the Seidio Innocase cover attached to the phone. I do not yet see this Innodock being offered here on Amazon but I imagine it may be soon. I just recently found it as I was browsing through the Droid forums and I am planning on ordering it ASAP!

This is my second Seidio Innocase. This is about the only well built case i have found to fit a Droid 2, Droid 2 global or Droid r2d2. To use this case with an extended battery(oem extended battery from VZ) you can't put the battery cover/door on the phone. You have to leave it off. This case covers it anyhow and no one knows you do not have a cover on your battery due to this case covers the battery door. Also when you bought the phone the battery snaps in the back of the phone it doesn't flop around. This helps my droids look nice and also protects them, very well has a good feel to it. I am hooked on Seidio. Pretty much the BMW of cell cases.. Haven't had the problems others say about hitting the upper keys on the keyboard. no problems what so ever. Very happy would buy it again plus it is the only case i found where you can actually use an extended battery but only the OEM extended battery. not sure about third party batterys. ** note I am using Motorola BP7X extended battery

Seidio Innocase Surface Case for Motorola Droid (Gold) Review

Seidio Innocase Surface Case for Motorola Droid (Gold)
Average Reviews:

The case I received was broken (one of the tabs that holds it to the face of the phone was missing) but you can tell as soon as you touch it that this is not another 5 dollar Ebay case. It's not a painted case, it's actually molded with the colored plastic so the edges are uniformly colored. Good texture: not smooth, but not too grippy for sliding in and out of your pocket. Very thin compared to the cheap cases and it fits perfect; no gaps or tight corners. It's a bummer that I got a defective unit, but I'm patient and Amazon is amazing with their returns, so it's all good.
About the color: The picture here and on Seidio's website make this case look yellow-gold; they're way off. It's less yellow and more bling-bling gold, if you know what I mean. Not shiny bling like a rapper's new grill, but more like an old gold chain that hasn't been cleaned in a while. Normally when I see cell phone cases this color, they're bedazzled with dollar signs and the word "PIMP". Not my style, I'll definitely be ordering a different color.

I read many reviews before purchasing this product. It is true that you must be patient and careful when putting it on, especially since the LG enVTouch involves many small pieces. I was patient and careful but still had trouble putting on the inner screen, and finally placed it after 5 tries. The micro-bubbles that remain after putting on the shield do disappear, just make sure that they aren't larger than 1 or 2 mm. I had a big troublesome bubble that I kept on smoothing over for about 3 days and it did disappear! I read somewhere that leaving the phone under a lamp helps to install the product (the warmth?), and I think it helped me with the bubble. My phone didn't look too good immediately after installation to my dismay, but thankfully the micro-bubbles did smooth out after a few days.
I've had my phone covered for about a month and I am truly satisfied with the results. The phone looks good--almost as if it didn't have any shield. And I don't have to worry about scratching my phone when I drop it into my purse with keys inside. The installation process was a bit trying but worth it in the long run.

Amzer Super Screen Protector with Cleaning Cloth for Motorola DROID A855 (Clear) Review

Amzer Super Screen Protector with Cleaning Cloth for Motorola DROID A855 (Clear)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Overall this is a decent screen protector. It's definitely better than the one you get from the Verizon store. It covers the entire screen whereas the one from Verizon stops just above the bottom row of buttons and, for the most part, it's clear once it's on. I did have problems with bubbles, and after working on them for about 20 minutes, they're small, but they're still there. You don't really see the bubbles when the screen is on, but when it's black, you can see them.
This screen protector does not prevent the smudges from your finger as advertised, and the texture takes a while to get used to. When I first put it on, I agree with the other reviewer that said it felt like a Ziploc bag was on the phone. After a while though, I don't know if I just got used to it or it gets better, but I don't notice it any more. Also, it does seem cheap that you only get 1 in the package. I can't speak to the durability because I've only had it on for a day at the time of writing. If it starts peeling, I'll update my review.
It's a good product, but not great. It's average at best.
EDIT: Just wanted to come back and say that my protector already has a scratch in it. I'm not really sure how, because my phone stays in my pocket by itself for the most part. When it's not in my pocket, it's sitting on my desk. So within about 24 hours of putting it on my phone, it already has a scratch from light wear, no drops or anything like that. Might want to look elsewhere.
Another edit: So after about a week of use, I think I'm just gonna take this thing off. My phone is full of smudges that I'm constantly having to wipe off, the surface doesn't feel good, and it seems to make glare worse. I wouldn't waste the time or money on this thing, to be honest. The only truly positive thing I can say is that it does cover the whole screen, and it fits the screen well.
