BoxWave Motorola Droid ClearTouch Anti-Glare Screen Protector (Single Pack) Review

BoxWave Motorola Droid ClearTouch Anti-Glare Screen Protector (Single Pack)

This screen cover is easy to apply and re-apply if necessary, and covers the entire screen, which is nice. The anti-glare is great, but does cause some images to appear grainy because of it's texture - and this is really only noticable when this display is showing something that is predominantly white in color. If this is an issue for you, I'd recommend the other non-anti-glare cover made by Box-wave. My wife purchased that cover, and it is crystal clear, and just as excellent in it's own right. I prefer the anti-glare cover though, because it basically hides all screen smudging and has outstanding tactile appeal - specifically, there is considerably less friction between your finger and the screen than with any other cover. I highly recommend either product by box-wave, just depends on what's most important to you: image clarity or feel and smudge-free.

ZAGG invisibleSHIELD for Motorola Droid/Milestone (Full Body) Review

ZAGG invisibleSHIELD for Motorola Droid/Milestone (Full Body)

There are 16 different pieces to install, and it seriously took me an hour and a half to install this.
I learned a trick a while ago that if you take a hot shower and steam up the bathroom, the water vapor will cause the dust in the room to settle to the ground. I did this, and even so i still managed to get a piece of dust between the glass and the protector. I stupidly tried to fix it and made it worse by attempting to peel the protector up and get the piece of dust out with the tip of a razor blade. I'm trying to get a replacement screen protector from Zagg, since it has been damaged with a piece of metal, but not holding my breath. I'm one of those people with OCD the last reviewer was talking about...
I rated the item a 4 because I really like it, even though it was difficult to install. I like that it makes the phone a little easier to grip, and I think it looks sharp altogether. I keep my phone in my pocket all the time with a bunch of other stuff, and this should be perfect. It will keep it looking new.

Droid By Motorola Mirror Screen Protector for Droid + Wisdom*courage Wristband Review

just a quick one folks..... while this screen protector does turn the Droid's screen into a free mirror.... Uhhh...big deal. Here's the problem: one of Droid's big selling points is the built in GPS features/apps. Unfortunately, with this screen protector on the Droid you cannot see the screen in the car during the day. So I ripped it off and through it in the trash. Looking for a strictly "invisible" screen protector.
So....if you (1) have a Droid and love to look at yourself buy this; however if you actually want to use your phone's GPS apps then (2)do NOT buy this.
Bottomline: If you like mirrors: BUY. If want to use Droid's GPS apps: DON'T BUY.

Amzer Rubberized Snap On Crystal Hard Case for Motorola Droid A855 (Black) Review

Amzer Rubberized Snap On Crystal Hard Case for Motorola Droid A855 (Black)

I bought this on Amazon for my Motorola Droid. I reviewed the product here and on the manufacturer website. The manufacturer has this product AND a silicone shell. The silicone shell was out of stock, so I chose to try this.
Pros: The shell is a hard case that would protect the phone should you drop the phone.
Cons: Unfortunately, I have many more. They are all personal preference, but justify my rating. First, the casing was slightly difficult to attach to the sliding screen. Just when I thought I had it on, it would pop off. Granted, it only took an additional 5-10 minutes to get it on right, but I was continually leery that it would pop off again. Second, with the hard shell on, it made it more difficult to use the to row of keys on the slide out keyboard. I don't have long fingernails and typically use the pads of my fingers or the tips to type/text. I found that when I would try and use the top row, my fingers would be displaced and I regularly hit two keys (the one I was aiming for and the one below it) or the key below the one I was aiming for. The extra bulk of the shell pushed my finger away from its target. Third, on my phone, when I attached the shell, the slide action on the phone became much more rigid and felt like it was jammed or scraping somewhere. I can't identify where, though, because I did not see any marks. And finally, after having the shell on for ~3 days, I noticed that in some areas, the black (insert color) coating on the shell was coming off to reveal the white plastic underneath. I keep the phone in my pocket, so the fact that it started to wear so early on was concerning.
I may try and get the silicone case in the next few weeks, but am not pleased with this purchase. I'll post an update if the silicone case if worth it so those who read this review can compare.

Three LCD Screen Guards / Protectors for Motorola Droid A855 Review

Three LCD Screen Guards / Protectors for Motorola Droid A855
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
These screen guards arrived undamaged in a flat, business sized envelope. When I opened the package for them, the three guards were sandwiched between the two layers of the cardboard labeling. The microfiber cleaning cloth was there also. However, contrary to the instructions on the package label, my package did not contain the squeegee for removing the bubbles. That was not a problem, as I used as a substitute one of the key-ring tabs for a store affinity program, which worked just as well.
1st attempt:
1st issue: It should be labeled clearly which side of the protector is the adhesive side which should be applied to the screen. Both sides had a protective cover, which was good. One tab was labeled 1 and the other as 2. Both said to remove before applying. I first had to figure out which was the non-sticky side since nothing on the label indicated which was which.
2nd issue: Unless one has very small fingers, it is difficult to use the tiny cloth to wipe the screen without touching it.
3rd issue: As others have said, the alignment of the guard with the screen is tricky. Getting it in place while peeling the protective layer is finicky work. My first attempt wound up having dust under it, making a couple of bubbles that could not be removed. Also, by removing the outer layer of protective plastic, it made it difficult to avoid scratching the plastic of the guard. After several attempts to reposition the first guard, and unable to avoid touching the underside while attempting to remove the dust spots, I removed it so I could try again with a new one.
2nd attempt:
Using the lessons I learned with the first one, I did not remove the plastic protecting the outside surface. I re-cleaned the screen and carefully positioned the second one, peeling the protective layer for the adhesive side as I went. This time, I had the alignment correct and there were no dust particles visible.
After using the card to remove the remaining air bubbles, I removed the protective plastic from the outside. I needed to work a couple of tiny bubbles from the corner which had been covered by the tab and not visible. After that, I had a clear, unscratched guard on my new Droid. I hope it will stay there and perform well. That is, of course, something that will only be evident with time. I still have one unused guard in reserve for when the installed one finally needs replacing.

Motorola DROID Screen Protector (Motorola A855) Review

Motorola DROID Screen Protector (Motorola A855)

I have used many screen protectors, including the top of the line Seidio, and have applied them with no problem. This thing is absolutely terrible. I know exactly how to apply these and have done it many times, but this screen protector is worthless (even at $1). There were bubbles everywhere and there is a sticker on the outside of the protector that peels off, leaving sticky residue on the protector. So even if this applied perfectly, there would still be a bunch of stickiness on the lower corner. I can't complain too much since I didn't expect this thing to be very good, but do yourself a favor and save your dollar.

Amzer Super Screen Protector with Cleaning Cloth for Motorola DROID A855 (Clear) Review

Amzer Super Screen Protector with Cleaning Cloth for Motorola DROID A855 (Clear)

Overall this is a decent screen protector. It's definitely better than the one you get from the Verizon store. It covers the entire screen whereas the one from Verizon stops just above the bottom row of buttons and, for the most part, it's clear once it's on. I did have problems with bubbles, and after working on them for about 20 minutes, they're small, but they're still there. You don't really see the bubbles when the screen is on, but when it's black, you can see them.
This screen protector does not prevent the smudges from your finger as advertised, and the texture takes a while to get used to. When I first put it on, I agree with the other reviewer that said it felt like a Ziploc bag was on the phone. After a while though, I don't know if I just got used to it or it gets better, but I don't notice it any more. Also, it does seem cheap that you only get 1 in the package. I can't speak to the durability because I've only had it on for a day at the time of writing. If it starts peeling, I'll update my review.
It's a good product, but not great. It's average at best.
EDIT: Just wanted to come back and say that my protector already has a scratch in it. I'm not really sure how, because my phone stays in my pocket by itself for the most part. When it's not in my pocket, it's sitting on my desk. So within about 24 hours of putting it on my phone, it already has a scratch from light wear, no drops or anything like that. Might want to look elsewhere.
Another edit: So after about a week of use, I think I'm just gonna take this thing off. My phone is full of smudges that I'm constantly having to wipe off, the surface doesn't feel good, and it seems to make glare worse. I wouldn't waste the time or money on this thing, to be honest. The only truly positive thing I can say is that it does cover the whole screen, and it fits the screen well.
