splash masque is a nice screen protector for my Droidx. It really covers the entire screen, which most others do not and goes on easily with no bubbles. Screen is clear and easy to read. Great product.

Seidio Ultimate Screen Guard for Motorola DROID X/Droid X 2 - 2 Pack Review

Seidio Ultimate Screen Guard for Motorola DROID X/Droid X 2 - 2 Pack

I bought this 2-pack of screen protectors based on the reviews here. When I got my Droid X from Verizon I picked up some of their screen protectors to hold me over. The Verizon ones were more opaque and only covered the display area of the screen, not the surrounding surfaces.
The Seidio protector was easy to install and covers the entire face of my Droid X thus offering more protection. The Seidio protectors are also crystal clear and make the display really pop. Unfortunately, they produce a ton of glare and are way more susceptible to fingerprints and smudging. Keep that in mind when buying these.

SGP MOTOROLA Droid X / Droid X2 Screen Protector Steinheil Series Review

SGP MOTOROLA Droid X / Droid X2 Screen Protector Steinheil Series
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
When I first got my Droid X, I knew I had to protect the screen because I'd heard so many horror stories from iPhone and other touch screen cell phone owners regarding what happens when you don't. So, being somewhat frugal, I purchased the $5 version protector. Putting it on wasn't too hard, but it had a couple of bubbles and really didn't seem to be thick enough to protect anything. When I heard about the [name brand] protector that you could have professionally applied at your local electronics store, I figured it might be more protective. After all, it could resist scratches from car keys and a rotary tool, or so they claimed. Yeah, it might, but the orange peel roughness of the cover along with the micro air bubbles that you get (applied wet) make it look like you did a poor installation when you didn't. Finally, I got smart. Checked the forums to see what others are using. The Steinheil Ultra Crystal seemed to be the protector of choice. Now I see why. When I got it, I watched the installation video available and noticed that they put the protector on from side to side, rather than top to bottom, of the screen. Amazing! Not even the tiniest of bubbles and as clear as the original screen. As for protection, you know the minute you take it out of the package, this one will protect your investment with it's thick and hard shell consistency. Price? Well, I got mine from the company directly (SGP) which you can do from this page and feel that $14 is very reasonable. I only wish I wouldn't have wasted my money on other "protectors" before finding this one. That is why I am writing this review so you won't have to do the same thing. These are the BEST screen protectors and your Droid will thank you.

Good price. Fits perfectly. Only downside to a mirrored cover is that when it is docked in the car dock, there is a lot of glare.

First, product was supposed to be a clear protector. It came as a privacy protector and then to boot when you put it on you can't use your phone. Unable to even unlock my Droid X with the protector on. NOT impressed!

splash Masque Screen Protector Film Clear (Invisible) for Motorola Droid X (3-Pack) Review

splash Masque Screen Protector Film Clear (Invisible) for Motorola Droid X (3-Pack)
Average Reviews:

After purchasing a Droid X at Verizon and letting the Verizon sales rep apply one of the three (in the package) store bought Verizon screen savers, I didn't think too much about it except he did allow a small bubble to exist, so I simply re-did it myself at home. No problem after getting it laid down almost perfectly. The finger moves smoothly, there is no issue with touch sensitivity, and it is as clear and transparent as it can get. So why the splash Masque?
One thing bothered me about the Verizon screen protector. It's illogical. You have a glass area within an indent that measures 2 1/2 x 4 1/4 inches, but their screen saver is only 2 1/16 x 3 11/16 inches, big enough to cover the live part of the screen but leaving an uncovered border around the perimeter. So what's the big deal? Maybe you'll never scratch the border area (but you could), and the purpose of the screen protector is to protect the viewed area from scratches, isn't it?
If you have a choice between two options, one to cover most of the glass and the other to cover all of the glass, and it doesn't cost any more to go with the full coverage, and the full coverage option is perfectly smooth without drag or resistance, and it is perfectly clear, and there are no bubbles when applied, and there are also three in the pack in case you don't get it perfect the first or second time, why would you stay with the Verizon screen protectors? You wouldn't.
But before I discovered the splash Masque on Amazon's site (you will see that the splash Masque has glowing reviews overall), I looked at other options. I went to a Best Buy, where they only offer the Zagg Invisibleshield screen protectors for a variety of devices, including the Droid X. While at Best Buy, the sales rep made a compelling reason for buying Zagg (which, by the way, provides only one in the package, uses a wet solution during application, requiring up to 24 hours to dry completely, and costs twice as much as the splash Masque package of three). The sales rep showed me the Zagg applied to one of their demo phones and I felt a resistance when sliding my finger across, but I figured it was something you got used to and didn't matter in the end since so many Zagg screen protectors are sold. I bought one and went home. Before I was going to open the package and apply it, I decided to do more online investigation of reviews for the Zagg and others. The Zagg had mixed reviews. Others that I explored also had mixed reviews. This splash Masque, however, skewed heavily towards very favorable reviews. You can read them here.
I decided I'm not even going to try the Zagg, which I could have returned after trying if I didn't like it. Why bother? I already knew that there was more resistance than the perfectly smooth Verizon screen protector, and there were many reviews of the Zagg that were not favorable, and it cost twice as much for the Zagg as it did for the Verizon or splash Masque screen protectors (and you only got one instead of three). And splash Masque had such good reviews. So I ordered the splash Masque screen protectors for my Droid X and received them yesterday. I applied one. Very easy, no liquid needed, only a few minutes to apply, fits the glass perfectly, including the rounded corners, zero resistance, perfectly clear, perfectly sensitive to the touch -- how much more can you ask for in a simple product like this? It does what it is supposed to do, just like the Verizon screen protector. But, more logically, it covers the whole screen, and that makes all the difference.
I don't write reviews often, especially if the points I would make are already covered by other reviewers. In this case, the choice to go with these splash Masque screen protectors was such a good one that I wanted anyone considering screen protectors to understand that this is THE choice to go with. Chances are good that you will be able to return the used Verizon product since they have a good return policy on their accessories.
Glad to help.

invisibleSHIELD MOTDROXS for Motorola Droid X - Screen Only - Retail Packaging Review

invisibleSHIELD MOTDROXS for Motorola Droid X - Screen Only - Retail Packaging
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I have been using ZAGG InvisibleSHIELD products for a couple of years now and have it on several devices I own. When it came time to protect my Droid X's large, beautiful screen, I only thought of one screen protector. I eventually figured out that ZAGG isn't optimal for touch screen devices.
PROS:
- Decent protection
- Can be inexpensive with discount codes
- Lifetime warranty
- Good customer service
CONS:
- Distorts screen clarity
- Tacky surface creates too much friction
- Can be difficult to install
I had the dubious responsibility of installing several different types of screen protectors on Droid X's. One came out as clear winner. Unfortunately, it wasn't the ZAGG.
INSTALL
First of all, I have always disliked ZAGG packaging. They keep changing it and they're still a pain to open. If you have never installed this type of screen protector, then you will probably have a very hard time installing it so it would be a good idea to watch their install videos. After having installed about 10 ZAGG screen protectors, I have a good sense of what works. If you don't do it right, you can actually damage your InvisibleSHIELD during installation. My biggest advice during install is to use the liquid solution generously and wipe up the excess right away. Also keep a can of compressed air handy. The bummer about this type of screen protector is that you have to wait 12-24 hours for it to cure and for your device to dry.
PERFORMANCE
I have never had a device's screen get scratched or damaged while being protected by an InvisibleSHIELD. So ultimately, it does work. But, for touch screen devices, I find the tacky feel to be less than ideal. It creates a lot of friction and makes swiping on the screen more difficult than it should be. Additionally, I found that it actually compromises the clarity of the screen. I did a direct comparison between a Droid X with a ZAGG and one with a different screen protector and it was a stark contrast. Also, the InvisibleSHIELD retains impressions. My wife's Droid X with an InvisibleSHIELD on it looks terrible now. As soon as she gets tired of it (she's not as picky as me), I'll be replacing the ZAGG.
WARRANTY & SUPPORT
ZAGG does actually have a great warranty and good support so kudos for that. Whenever I've needed a replacement, they have sent them out and it's easy to do using their website. Unfortunately, they charge you $4 for the shipping and handling.
ALTERNATIVE PRODUCTS
Besides the ZAGG, I tried two other products for my Droid X. I tried the 3-pack of protectors from Verizon and the splash Masque. I'll say it right now that the splash Masque is the best. It was crystal clear, fairly easy to install, and the least expensive! I can't recommend the Verizon one at all. Though it is basically the same as the splash Masque, it is cut to the dimensions of the display only and not the screen. The splash is cut to the entire screen. The splash is also cut closer to the edges than the ZAGG. The ZAGG still leaves quite a bit of room which is annoying. I got a lot of dust buildup around all four edges when using the ZAGG.
SUMMARY
The ZAGG is still a nice product for certain devices, but generally overpriced. For touch screen devices like the Droid X, the ZAGG interferes too much with screen clarity and impedes the use of the touch screen. I personally prefer screen protectors like the splash Masque for my Droid X.

Motorola DROID X Screen Protector (Motorola MB810) Review

Motorola DROID X Screen Protector (Motorola MB810)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Size-wise it fits the screen absolutely perfectly, and it's pretty easy to apply. Each side of the cover has a thin sheet of cellophane over it to protect the cover while you are installing it. You first remove one side's cellophane and install it on the Droid X screen. Then you smooth out bubbles with the included cardboard smoother tool. Then you remove the outer piece of cellophane. I had some trouble getting this outside piece off because the little doohickey sticker you're supposed to pull to remove it came off, and so I had to mess around trying to separate the temporary cellophane from the actual screen protector. Ultimately I managed. There are also a couple of small spots along the edge of the protector where it will not adhere to the Droid's screen. This doe not really bug me since it is on the screen's non-viewable border. It's sticking where it is most important, and it doesn't look bad - likely no one else would notice it, but I'm a perfectionist. The protector seems tough, and the touchscreen is just as sensitive with the protector as without. It is utterly clear and see-through, and I have not noticed any difference in picture quality - no distortion (Planet of the Vampires has never looked better than on the Droid X - so cool!) If this protector ever gets damaged I will likely order the same kind as a replacement.
UPDATE: Nearly two months after purchase, protector is in same condition. I have not dropped my phone or anything, so in that sense the protector has not been tested, but it is still adhering to the screen fine and no new bubbles have appeared.
UPDATE II: After 6 months the protector is beginning to show some signs of wear and tear: a couple of points literally about the size of a grain of sand appear to be "disconnected" from the Droid's screen itself, but the protector as a whole is still very securely adhered in place. I'm pretty careful with my phone - I don't keep it in my pocket with change, keys etc., but there are now several small scratches on the protector. But it is, after all, a screen protector, so better it than the Droid's screen, right? It would be unreasonable to expect anything more from a $3 item after 6 months. It is still very acceptable, and I would not be surprised if it was a year before I decided to get a new one, and it would definitely be the same brand. Given all of this, I'm raising my rating from 4 to 5 stars. This item is a rare bargain, and I will probably order a couple at a time now to last me through the life of my Droid.
Hope this info has been helpful.
