(More customer reviews)I am not going to spend a lot of time listing 'specs' because Amazon's page has them all, well organized and in detail. Instead, I will discuss our experience with the PLAY from a gamer's point of view because I can't see anyone but a gamer considering this.
BRIEF ASSESSMENT
The Xperia PLAY attempts to combine an advanced Android phone with a portable gaming platform resembling the PSP or rather the PSP Go hoping that the integrated whole will turn into something more than the sum of its parts but, in my view, what we get is a good, solid gadget that fails to come close to 'best in class' in either the smart phone or the portable gaming platform categories. There are many smart phones that outperform it (better, faster, dual-core CPUs) and outfeature (4G, HDMI, DLNA support) the Xperia PLAY and, while it superficially resembles the PSP Go, the PLAY only accepts games specifically converted to work with it, meaning that you'll have to buy them again and, at least at the time I am writing this review, it can't access Sony's PSN store. While you can play Android games, you will need to find 'PLAY optimized' titles if you are to take advantage of the PSP-like game pad.THE GOOD
Again, neither the phone component or the PSP-like transformation are bad, they are quite good and here is what I liked about them:
- Android 2.3. It's not the latest in Android but I was assured that upgrades are forthcoming.
- Decent battery life. Sure, you can't play or stay on the phone forever but unless all you do is play and stay on the phone all day one charge per day should be sufficient.
- Good 'game pad' integration. You go into 'game mode' the moment you pull out the pad.
- Bluetooth, GPS, Wi-Fi available and working well. Also a microUSB port.
- Very nice stereo speakers. They work well with the games and, as a bonus, you get better than decent sound in 'speaker phone' mode.
- A couple of very nice preloaded apps: Kindle, Google Maps, YouTube, Skype Mobile,Twitter and Facebook integration.
- 8GB microSD card included but you can replace it with a larger one, of course.
- PSP Go like controls including some innovative implementation of the 2 analog joysticks as touch-pads.
- Lots of preloaded games (I will list them at the bottom of this review)THE BAD
- Single-core CPU makes it a relatively slow performer as a smart phone.
- Lack of HDMI port and DLNA support makes it a poor multimedia gadget.
- The display is not that bright, probably to conserve battery life.
- The cameras are okay but barely so and the flash is not that bright.
- The touchpads meant to replace the analog joysticks are not always responsive.
- As a phone, it's a little on the bulky side.
- Not all Android games can be played in the game mode. It's confusing and it can be frustrating.
- Can't play PSP or PSOne games unless adapted, meaning that you need to buy them again.RATING
I am going to give the PLAY 3 stars which means "it's Okay". It's an interesting concept and it works to some degree but someone who wants an Android phone and a serious portable gaming platform may be better off with an actual Android phone and a PSP or a PSP Go. I am giving it 3 stars and not 2 stars because my kid (the one who didn't have a PSP) decided that it was good enough for him and he's using it now. Thanks to the large number of preloaded games and to the availability of some PLAY-friendly Android games we didn't have to buy any old games again yet.___________________________________________________

LG Optimus T Android Phone, Titanium (T-Mobile) Review

(More customer reviews)I wanted an android phone without a data plan. Almost all the carriers want you to commit to a 30$ plan for 24 months to subsidize the handset by some 200$. I have internet at home and at work and I don't need it during my commute.
But what good is an android without a data plan?
If it connects to wifi, I will be able to synch my contact list with my gmail account with the phone. The interface for managing contacts and calender is much nicer on the PC with a full keyboard than the phone. I have tried using bluetooth on Nokia to synch contacts, or the USB cable for Motorola-Razr, or the USB cable for Huwei clones... the interface is not easy and they don't really synch well with yahoo mail or gmail. They all assume Outlook is the only email client people use.
The second advantage is that, t-mobile android allows WiFi calling. Not sure if all androids have WiFi calling or iPhone has WiFi calling. Though WiFi calling uses plan minutes, it is just basic plan minutes. No roaming charges, no international calling charges. So WiFi calling helps you if parts of your home does not get good cell reception, or when you are on a cruise ship charging 3.99$ a minute roaming fee (but just 50$ for wifi service) or when you are in a foreign country with WiFi in coffee shops or in the homes of friends/family with a WiFi router.
These advantages are not worth paying 30$ x 24 months. But this phone is priced at just 240$ without contract not much more than a comparable feature-rich non-smart phone. But you get all the benefits of a modern smartphone. You can play with android apps, taste them and see if it is really worth moving to an expensive smart phone.
Got the phone some three days back, it works as promised. Connects to WiFi, synchs with gmail, picasa, without any hitch. SMS-texting, phones work. Web browser works. Very new to Android systems, So I have not really explored or tested these very well.

(More customer reviews)I got my Droid x2 on May 20th. I came from a Droid X, and previously a Droid 1. Even though this phone is not running Gingerbread yet, the Menus, and interface are much improved over the original Droid X. The Screen can be described as richer. It has more contrast, and the colors are better. The Camera is Much faster, and I feel takes much nicer pictures than the X. One major advantage for me is that it fits in my Car Dock, and my cases. How many times have you changed phones only to have to buy all new accessories. If you are just moving to a Droid phone, this is the fastest phone on the market now. I see people crying that it is not 4g.. I have never felt there was anything I could not download fast enough. My 3G Streams video,loads games, you name it. If I have something big to download, the phone is great on WiFi.. and the DX2 is even faster there. The Battery seems to be about the same even with the much faster Processor.
Like the Ad says the Droid does.. and the Droid X2 does twice as fast.

HTC DROID INCREDIBLE 2 Android Phone (Verizon Wireless) Review

(More customer reviews)I have used the original Incredible since it came out one year ago. Loved it always, but had a few drawbacks. Those drawbacks are addressed in the Incredible 2. Screen size is now perfect at 4". I always found the 3.7" display on the original Incredible just a bit small. I find most 4.3" displays just a tad too large for my hands, so this is perfect. The sound quality in the earpiece during normal conversation is also much improved, not that it was ever bad, it's just clearer. Now, the biggest improvement-battery life. With the original Incredible during a normal day, no problem, but on days when I worked a 12 hour shift I had to carry an extra battery or charge the phone occasionally. No such issues with the Incredible 2. I used the phone as normal all day today and still had over 70% battery life remaining when I got home after 9 p.m.! I never charged it once in all that time.
Is the Incredible 2 a dual core processor, no. Is it really fast, you bet. Is it 4G, again, no, but I'll take battery longevity and a beautifully slim profile over a few minutes of super speed every time. And the clarity. What can I say-after all, it is a phone-a device built for the purpose of communication.
And you don't need to pay VZ retail price for the upgrade. It's a lot less right here on Amazon and some retail stores will even match price.
Those are my reasons for calling the Incredible 2 a "Very Worthy Upgrade".

(More customer reviews)Probably. In most states. But i bought this VM LG Rumor Touch at the 'red & white rings' store when it was on sale. Overall it's a great electronic device. Amazon and virgin mobile's site does a great job of describing it and telling you what to expect. I'll share just some impressions and not-so-great-things about it. But make no mistake, i'd recommend this easily.
likes:
* mp3's come through clear and crisp in external speaker(headphones and usb cable included)
* that 3" touchscreen is nice compared to my previous 2" screen on my last cell. it's like going from standard def to HD(sorta)
* pics are good and sharp. my shaky hand and some pics look blurry when in camera mode. but once you take it and view it, it looks great. thanks image stabilization(or a variation of it)
* micro-sd slot is great for adding lots of mp3's. have not figured how to transport pics and vids to the sd-card slot to view on my camera yet. but then, i'm an idiot with gadgets. (figured it out, just go to tools>mass storage>file manager)
* qwerty keyboard is fairly spaced out for me, but if you got big/chubby fingers you might have problems.
* i'm a cheap bastard, so i only pay $25 a month for this phone, total! i get 300 anytime minutes for calls, unlimited texts/pic msgs(not including the free messaging through social networks and emails), and unlimited web access. do i need to even repeat that? of course, higher plans with more talk minutes are available as an option.
* 3G built-in(but no wi-fi). Spotty at times, but mostly consistent and reliably there when you want to surf the web.
dislikes:
* not very good video playback in camcorder mode. it's serviceable, and at least the option to take videos and watch them is there. just don't expect high-quality.
* you can customize ur pics, but nothing really special or extensive. worse, you don't seem to be able to organzize your pics into specific albums(i will apologize if this option turns up, but i can't find any extensive options to organize your pics)
* scrolling through long lists is imprecise and can be frustrating.
* you can't seem to assign your mp3's as ringtones.
* the default is an 'unlock' screen where you slide to unlock it to access your phone. doesn't bother me much, but i decided that i would leave my cell unlocked cause i could see it might annoy me if i had to unlock it with some code or procedure, no thanks. besides, it's not like i have government secrets on my phone.
Overall, great phone(i've actually used it for calls a few times and the reception is good and i live out in the boonies sort of), tons of features, and a cheap monthly plan for me with other options for others. Highly recommended.

* disappointed at lack of customization/organization options concerning contacts, mp3's, pics, videos, and messages.
* gently using your fingernail as a stylus is more precise than using your finger(ok that was too obvious but i'm a slow learner)

LG Revolution 4G Android Phone (Verizon Wireless) Review

(More customer reviews)LG hasn't really been known in the past for their high end phones. Usually you have seen them mainly in the freebie bins. Though with the recent releases of both the X2 and now the Revolution it seems that LG is trying to change the way they are precieved. And in my eyes, they have done well so far.
I am going to say this right off the bat, the battery is neither horrible nor is it great. Unplugged at 7AM the battery with moderately heavy usage it usually makes it past 6PM with around 10% left. Thats with a few phone calls, moderate surfing (I live and work in a 4G area and usually have 2-4 bars) running of apps/games and of course some Netflix and HBO GO usage. Some days vary though and I need to recharge before 6PM. So as with any other LTE phone, you may want to have a spare charger around with you. Keep in mind though, my battery is in no way fully conditioned, so hopefully it will improve some. With the battery thing out of the way you will be greeted with a spectacular phone. The screen is crisp and clear. Not as good as the Droid Charge, but hands down superior to the HTC Thunderbolt.
The phone also comes with 16GB internal storage which is the most of any of the current LTE offerings. This phone also scores higher than both of the other devices in Quadrant usually getting me 2100. Granted not dual core territory, but great for a single core. Menus, games and the internet move quickly and smoothly. And chances are if you are looking at this phone, LTE is probably the most imporant thing on your mind.
The phone , like the other LTE devices, ships with Froyo 2.2.2 and hopefully Gingerbread will be out shortly. Lg has been speedy in getting Gingerbread out for the X2 so hopefully they'll have the same diligence with the Revolution, but we can only speculate with that. The phone also has VoLTE built in, which is nice but the sevice won't be turned on until next year.
A quick run down of differences/advantages between the current LTE phones:

All in all, you'll have advantages in some areas and will fall short in others. The Revolution is a well rounded LTE offering and in my opinion was enough to warrant a purchase and 2 year contract from me. If you're looking to get the fastest phone out there, you may want to look at one of the new dual core offerings, but know this, you'll be stuck on 3g. If you want LTE and want to lock yourself into unlimited 4g before Verizon switches over to tiered internet this should be your phone of choice. Dreams of a dual core phone with unlimited LTE support most likely got killed with the delay of the Bionic.

I will break down this review into the pros and cons of the Palm Pixi. Please note that this review is comparing the phone to all other phones, not a comparison between the Pre. This is for people who want to know how the phone is as a phone.
Pros
*Thin, sleek candy bar design.
-The phone has an excellent look and feel to it. It is light yet still feels strong and durable. Plus the back is rubberized giving it great grip in your hand or anywhere you place it.
*WebOS software
-Multitasking, applications, synchronization with all your accounts, WebOS offers many features that make you question how you ever survived without it. The two really great features of WebOS, multitasking and synchronization, should be enough incentive alone to purchase this phone. Being able to check my email, open a link from said email into a new tab, proceed to shop on the web, then switch over to my messaging window and chat with someone while listening to music is simply stunning. Plus having my contacts list automatically update with my Gmail and Facebook contacts is a huge help. I could go on and on but I wont. WebOS is it, the future of mobile phone operating systems.
*QWERTY Keyboard
-This is just a personal preference but I love qwerty keyboards. That being said some qwerty boards are less than desirable. This keyboard may seem small but I have found very little issue using it. The buttons are raised at the perfect height, giving you nice separation between the phone itself and the keys. They also have a comfortable feel to them, providing a very satisfying click when pressed. Nice layout and design and definitely deserves kudos.
*Touch Screen
-The touch screen is detailed, vibrant, and most of all, very responsive. The screen looks great and performs very well.
*Multimedia
-The phone allows you to sync with iTunes and download your music. The music player is basic but performs very well. It also supports videos in mp4 as well as streaming sources like Youtube.
*Other Smartphone Features
-This phone offers Web Browsing, Youtube, Amazon MP3 Store, Sprint GPS Services, Palm Application Catalog, and Sprint TV.Cons
*Mini USB Plug
-There is a flap protecting the place where you plug the phone in to charge, transfer data, etc. This flap is very difficult to open up.
*Boot Up Time
-This phone takes several minutes to boot up. This is mildly annoying if you have to turn the phone off because you will then have to wait around 3 minutes to boot it back up.
*Minor Bugs
-There are some minor bugs with WebOS. With each update they seem to make improvements but bugs still do exist. I've noticed that there have been a couple occasions where my phone has been off even though I did not power it down. When I boot it back up the battery life is fine making question what the deal is. Also when watching videos and you receive a text or phone call, the phone experiences some serious slow down and delay.As far as performing the basic phone duties it does very well. Call sound quality is good, not exceptional, but definitely good. Also the clarity of the microphone is very good as well, no complaints when speaking to other people. The speaker phone is fairly loud yet doesn't sacrifice the quality at all. The battery life is quite sufficient in my opinion. With moderate usage, several phone calls, intermittent texting, and some web surfing, I found the phone's battery life lasts around two days.
I recommend this to anyone looking for a new phone and wants to venture into the smartphone market. This phone is sleek and provides some truly awesome features. The Pixi has some flaws but no phone is perfect, we all know that. If you take into account all the features along with the price ($24.99), this phone is simply unbeatable.
