Incipio SILICRYLIC Case for iPhone 4 (Black/Black) (Fits AT&T iPhone) Review

As with all things, case designs have to make compromises. If you want ultimate protection, be prepared for a tank of a case. If you want sleek looks to match the iP4, be prepared for flimsy designs. Unfortunately you can't have it all (at least at a reasonable price-point). The Incipio Silicrylic is a good compromise in my opinion.
The silicone inner linner is incredibly soft, providing adequate shock absoption while keeping the overall package thin. The polycarb outer layer provides an extra layer of impact resistance from blunt and hard objects. It probably won't save your phone from a 2+ meter drop, but occasional drops from waist or chest height should not be a problem. I'm sure the case won't come out pristine, but better the case than the phone.
So far I have tried the following cases:
* Apple Bumper- Looks great, but adds little protection.
* Griffin Reveal Etch- Great look and feel, but the sides are not snug enough to the phone.
* Speck Candyshell- Superb protection, but it bulks up the phone too much IMO and scratches WAY too easily. Incompatible with most connectors and docks.
Pros:
- Good compromise of thinness and protection
- Superb compatability with pin connectors (works with basically anything)
- Good compatability with 3rd party docks (thin enough to work with most)
- Easy access/function with all phone controls
- Good looks
- Easy to install/remove
- Perfect fitment/alignment
- No "flash haze"
- Easy in/out of pockets
Cons:
- Exposed silicone layer picks up lint occassionally, but thankfully it is easily removed
- Polycarb layer has plasticky feel to it
- Silicone material around the Home button can be a little annoying
- Could use silicone inserts on the sides for better grip
Overall, the Silicrylic case makes an excellent compromise between looks and protection while adding superb functionality.

Incipio SILICRYLIC V3 Case for iPhone 3G, 3G S (Classic Black) Review

Incipio SILICRYLIC V3 Case for iPhone 3G, 3G S (Classic Black)

I recently bought an iPhone 3gs from ebay and decided I better protect this piece of sexy hardware. So after reading 5 star, 4 star, and 1 star reviews from other cases I ended buying this one.
==First impressions==
When I got my package through the mail, I opened it up and noticed a lot of things immediately. Inside my package were 3 things: an exterior sturdy case, a second rubbery case, and a screen protector? Ignore the screen protector as it is a cheap useless one that won't protect your baby. Buy this screen PhoneDevil Magic Screen protector: Matte Clear (anti-glare) edition - For Apple iPhone 3G & iPhone 3GS it's the best in the market right now and it's done a flawless job of protecting my iPhone 3gs from irritating scratches.
==Style & Fit==
As mentioned before there's 2 components to this case. A Polycarbonate plastic exterior (the sturdy case) which is embedded in a shock absorbing silicone core (the second rubbery case). You place your iPhone/iPod touch in the shock absorbing silicone core first.
It fits in very snuggly and surrounds the iPhone all around 4 sides. It has perfect cut outs for the dock usb connector, ring/silent switch, camera, and headphones plug in. The volume and sleep/wake buttons are covered but outlined by the this shock absorbing silicone case. Also it's important to note that access to the sim card is covered as well.
The second component is the polycarbonate plastic exterior which has to snap on to the back of the shock absorbing case and on all 4 corners of the iPhone. Once completed though you're phone looks like a black beauty; attractive yet seductive.
==Design Flaws==
Should you ever decide to take out your SIM, add a screen protector, or modify your iPhone, you will need to take off the entire case. When you try to take off the exterior polycarbonate case, it gives you a little bit of a hard time since it's snapped so well in place. It isn't extremely tight, but tight enough to be effective at protecting your iPhone.
This is a good and bad thing, because the exterior case does a phenomenal job of protecting your iPhone on all 4 corners and sides, BUT it gives you a hard time to take off when you need to do something to your iPhone. Because of this, the hands of the exterior case has peeled and cut some of the corners of the shock absorbing rubbery silicone case. The peelings weren't serious enough to be a deal breaker, since they're just peels not cut outs, so you can hide them by just letting the peelings lay back in place.
In this case, I blame mostly the shock absorbing case for being weak on the corners. On the bright side, the shock absorbing case wasn't meant to protect the 4 corners of the iPhone just the 4 sides and back of the iPhone. The exterior polycarbonate case more than makes up for this design flaw, because it protects all 4 corners of your iPhone with plenty of polycarbonate between the concrete floor and your phone.
==The Verdict & Some Final Thoughts==
Even though this is my first ever iPhone 3gs case, it's certainly not the first phone or device case I've ever used or seen. I've seen and used many pretentious and useless plastic cases, that are just meant for style. If you want a case that provides a minimalist but accessible approach to style, phenomenal protection, and comfort, then this is the one for you.
Make sure to do what you have to do to your iPhone, like put a screen protector on or change sims, before you put your baby in this case, because it's a hassle to keep taking it off & back on and it messes up the 4 corners of the rubbery case over time. Please don't forget to comment and rate if you found this review helpful. I can't wait for the new iPhone update OSX 4 :)

Incipio SILICRYLIC Case for iPhone 4 (White/Silver) (Fits AT&T iPhone) Review

First, The silicone is very thin. Hardly worth putting it there,
Second, the case is already starting to loose some color in the edges. The main torso which is the grey hard cover is starting to discolor after only a week of use.
Third, there is virtually no costumer service. I am still waiting for response for an email I sent 3 days ago.
Forth, when you take a picture there is a wash out of color. It makes the picture look dull, and grey.
FIFTH, i believe that this company put's out it's on review's to counteract the negative ones, because for every negative review there is a positive one contracting that one... and don't take my word for it I suggest you read other reviews and you'll start to see a pattern.

First off, I love this case. My only complaint is a major one. The opening that they give you for your charge/sync port is not big enough for a regular mini usb plug. I went to Best Buy and tested 5 mini usb cables and none were small enough to fit in the whole provided by the silicrylic case. I went home and fired up my grinder in the garage. I than shaved off a little plastic on the cables. Works like a charm now. If I had known about this problem, I probably would not have purchased this item. I cant believe that they did not test this item with a few mini usb cables before putting into production.

I really like how this product fits onto my phone. Very appealing. My only issue is the plastic piece that is to fit on the back. It is hard to line up properly, and once in place, almost impossible to remove. Also, constant removal tears the corners of the case. If you have a standard charging system this product will work great, but if not, I would not recommend for docking on an ihome product.
