(More customer reviews)Well, I bought this item as a gift for my wife. She's travel a lot so I had to look after an unlocked cell phone with Quad Bands with 3G.
Then I tried to choose the best compilation between: modern layout, functions abundance, usability, hackability (could be customized free), free apps market size, good connectivity and price.
Everything was OK, minus the GPS - If I knew from reviews (phonearena, gsmarena, etc) that this is an internet based GPS and NOT a genuine one I wouldn't buy this phone. On the top of the mountain or on desert, somewhere where you REALLY need this function, this GPS doesn't work. It's a shame. I would like Amazon to add a warning about this kind of FAKE GPS on all handhelds specs with this kind of GPS. Nokia phones (Symbian based) have free maps and navigator update with genuine GPS.
OS - Android 1.5 Cupcake (not official upgradable, but can be "rooted" and upgrade) is quite stable but need additional apps (free ') to be fully manageable
Touchscreen - is quite big and good - you have to exercise the finger pressure till can be used without problems; some games need a good touching control
Keyboard - very useful for texting, keypads feel good on touch
5MP Camera - lack of features, it's not as good as they said, but can be improved by downloading additional free apps (stabilizers, editors, etc)
Connectivity: HSDPA, UMTS, WIFI, Bluetooth - all working OK, but drain all battery power
Battery: weak battery - I need to charge daily, with WIFI, Bluetooth and internet OFF and "Battery Booster" app ON
Apps: many free, some good, some need improvements, but overall OK
Pros: connectivity, OS, sliding keyboard, unlocked, free apps, fair price
Cons: FAKE GPS, battery
Overall: a good phone for the price, but there are many others with better OS (android 2.1), better REAL GPS and navigator (free), better touchscreen for the same or lower price.
