I purchased two other screen protectors and compared it against the Seidio Ultimate Screen Protector for HTC EVO 4G, 2 Pack (Crystal Clear).
In addition to the Seidio, I also tried the SGP STEINHEIL HTC Evo 4G Sprint Screen Protector (Ultra Crystal), http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003TML0V4/ref=cm_cr_rev_prod_title
and Three LCD Screen Guards / Protectors for HTC Evo 4G, http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003TW9BEM/ref=cm_cr_rev_prod_title
The Three LCD Screen Guards were a cheap version and clearly made the screen resolution (pixels) look less clear. Ironic choice of words huh? Yes, it made the EVO's beautiful screen look less clear, as if turning an HD TV back to non-HD, not to mention the rainbow colors it showed on the center of the screen. I quickly removed it and tried the other two brands. You get what you paid for.
Between the Seidio and Steinheil screen protectors, I'd say they are about on par, except the Steinheil Ultra Crystal had a brighter effect (it allowed more light from the EVO to reach your eye balls), and the feel against it had less friction than the Seidio. If I had to choose, I'd definitely go with the Steinheil again. Just don't make the mistake of what I did by first putting on the screen sticky by accident, and then realizing I needed to use the thicker screen protector.
My wife also noticed the same thing too. The Sedio clearly wins over the Three LCD Screen Guards.
**** TIP 1: Do not use the stupid squeegie/plastic thing that comes with the product to smooth/remove air bubbles. It will leave scratches on your screen protector. Instead, use your thumbs by pressing down on the film against your EVO screen to smooth out the air bubbles as you lay down the protector cover.
**** TIP 2: If you notice that there are particles underneath the protector cover after applying it already, get good ol' trusty Scotch tape. It's good enough that it'll stick to the cover so you can peel the cover from the EVO screen easily (as the tape will stick to the cover) and will be able to pick up particles, and weak enough that it doesn't leave any messy residue. For best results, have a 2nd person help you.
If the protector cover is already laid down on the EVO screen and you want to grab a particle that's stuck underneath, you (the person holding the phone and applying the cover) take a piece of scotch tape and stick it on the protector cover so you can peel the cover up slightly. Your partner in crime will then take another piece of scotch tape and stick it against the under side of the protector cover (right on the cover itself since the particle would have got stuck on the sticky side of it) to pick up the particle. Once this is done, you can slowly release the protector cover back down and you should notice the particle is now gone. I did this like a dozen times to remove small particles and it worked like a charm. It's also best if you do not position your head directly on top of your phone when performing this, as to not cause additional particles from falling down. If you don't have a partner in crime, you should be able to do this yourself if you're careful. No liquids required!
