(More customer reviews)I broke my original Verizon holster and decided to try a different brand. My wife has a Seidio case for her Droid X and I like it very much. However, the reviews of the Droid 2 version of the Seidio holster were not very positive. I decided to try the BoxWave because it was cheap and appeared to offer more complete protection than the original Verizon one.
However, what I've found is that the way the BoxWave holster surrounds the phone at all four corners (as opposed to only the screen being covered at the top end of the Verizon holster) is actually a big disadvantage. The first day I had it, I dropped the phone removing it from the holster because the way the holster surrounds the phone makes it difficult to grip he phone as you remove it from the holster.
In the end, I found out by using my Dremel to shave down part of the side of the holster to give my fingers better grip, it now works just fine.
In short, while wearing it on your belt, the BoxWave holster protects more of your phone, but when it comes time to remove it, this extra protection makes it more difficult to quickly and safely get the phone out.
