The grippy texture that the other reviewer complains about is what saves the phone when you are about to drop it (making it easier to hold) and protects your phone from the hard ground (by giving a little then bouncing). The Body Glove case has a belt clip but it comes off completely, leaving a smooth back to the phone. Also, I was able to use this and open the phone as far as it would go without the case on. Highly recommended.
