At first upon opening the new case, I felt that the hard plastic components seemed a bit cheap and lightweight. However, once I placed my storm in the case and slipped on the silicone sleeve, I realized that the construction of the case was virtually perfect. While some other reviews have cited construction errors or mis-alignments, my case fit the phone perfectly. All of the buttons function just as well as they did without the case, and I have no trouble hearing the other party nor do they ever have a problem hearing me.
Use:
The one and only "flaw" that I have encountered with this otterbox case is that the clear plastic membrane that covers the storm's touchscreen and hard buttons will cling to the screen, which causes "spots." This is a common complaint with anything that actually attaches to a lcd screen, and you really only notice it when the phone's screen is off.
The phone sits solidly in the case, and there is no wiggle-room for the phone to jostle around in. The silicone sleeve has a great texture and feel to it and the phone is very comfortable to hold. Others have mentioned an uncomfortable earpiece - I can certainly see how that could be the case but as long as you dont press the phone against your ear too hard (you should be using a bluetooth headset anyway) that is not a problem. The case is designed to work with an included belt clip and it works great! I had never used a belt clip with my storm until I bought this otterbox, and I absolutely love it - its comfortable on the hip, its easy to retrieve your phone, but yet it is very secure in the belt holster and your phone will not fall out. As far as looks go - yeah its certainly not the slimmest thing you'll have in your pocket or on your hip but I actually really like the ruggedness of it. and i actually get more compliments on my blackberry now than I did before I had otterbox on it.
Pros:
Great construction - perfect fit
Great feel and texture
Solid and secure
Buttons/touchscreen/speaker/mic all work perfectly
great belt-holster system
Cons:
"spots" from the sticky clear touchscreen cover
makes the phone bigger and heavier
Bottom Line:
If you have an active lifestyle or just need a little extra protection for your blackberry, BUY THIS. Otterbox is the best-protecting phone case manufacturer out there.
