I just received my DLO VideoShell case and at first glance I thought it was a good purchase until I removed it from the packaging. Although thin and lightweight, my first impression is how cheap it felt. I own a leather slip case that was easier to use. This DLO brand case did fit snug, however it started to pull off my screen protector and gave it a bubble effect where is was perfectly smooth before using the case. The stand is a thin piece of plastic that barely held up my iPhone in the vertical position unless I pulled the stand far out until it felt like it would break. The horizontal (vido view) was okay. As for the construction, I don't believe this case would be much protection.
For me, I made a bad decision in purchasing the DLO VideoShell case and definitely will be returning it.
I had recently purchased the Backflip with the built-in kickstand. Although a little more costly at $20, I feel the backflip is by far a much better case. It is thicker and does add a little more weight, but that extra thickness and rubberized shell will provide the necessary protection should you drop your device. The Backflip is more flexible and does not affect my screen protector. Now for the stand; it has four ridges around the edge of the kickstand to keep it in place when closed. It is triangular in shape and is thick rubber which provides the ideal support in either the vertical or horizontal position. Since the stand is rubber it does not slip or slide on whatever surface you place it on which is a big plus. Unlike other cases, the power button and volume control areas are do not have cut-outs, Instead, each of these areas have raised "knobs" that you press and they work well.
So, if you want a case that will protect your device and has a sturdy, built-in stand that you can view in both vertical and horizontal views, then I recommend spending a little extra and get the Backflip case.
