(More customer reviews)Having previously worked at a retail location for the manufacturer of the iPhone, I've encountered hundreds of cases. Some were dreadful. Most were adequate. Some were great, and a select few were perfect... except for one thing. That "one thing" varied from case-to-case; sometimes it was a tendency for the case to stretch out over time or a too-slippery surface. Sometimes the charging cable would scratch up the bottom of the case if the hole was cut too closely. Some cases would snap open on impact should the iPhone be dropped. Lots would easily show wear-and-tear with unsightly scratches over the back panel of the case, and the majority of iPhone cases commit the unforgivable sin of adding bulk, thereby obscuring the sleek look and feel of the iPhone.
I was actually surprised to find this case. I hadn't heard of the manufacturer before and hadn't seen this particular case anywhere. Fortunately, the packaging allowed me to check it out before purchasing. Here's what I found:
TEXTURE:
Impressively pleasing to touch. It is similar to warm silk over hard plastic. Easy to grip without getting stuck in jeans pockets. Doesn't attract schmutz, dust, fur, or other undesirable detritus. It also didn't have a nails-on-the-chalkboard feel that some textured plastic cases have. Finally, despite its silky surface, the oils from my fingers weren't leaving visible marks anywhere on the case.
SIZE:
Thin, hard-shell. Slim profile. Didn't add significant bulk to my iPhone.
PROTECTION:
Interior has top-to-bottom protective padding/cloth to inhibit scratches resulting from any dirt or particles that may manage to find their way into the case. Silky surface seems to offer a bit of shock absorption. Case is snugly secure when the two pieces are locked together; no possibility of accidental case collapse/disconnection.
ACCESSIBILITY:
Ports for charger, headphones, volume, camera and power button are all sized generously without being cut too widely. Edges of each hole align flush to the iPhone, limiting the amount of dust, etc. that can get inside the case. Bonus: the back features a cut-out to display the Apple logo and the surrounding bit of the iPhone's back panel.

I was intrigued, because this case *seemed* perfect. I'd been disappointed before, though, by many cases that seemed perfect at first, only to reveal their one flaw after some use.
I purchased this case August 7th. To this day, it remains in almost as good condition as the day it was purchased. Almost, that is, because I dropped my iPhone in the street this morning. Tragically, the case suffered some slight cosmetic injuries; a ding in one corner and a scuff near the volume hole. Uninjured in the incident: my iPhone.
This is the whole reason I came to Amazon today: I'm looking for an identical replacement, as I'm of the mindset that, like a bicycle helmet, once a case has endured a trauma, its ability to withstand another injury while offering adequate protection is diminished. This case has served me well, and I consider it to be Secret Service detail for my iPhone. This brave protector has fallen in the line of duty, but its protectee escaped unscathed. For that reason, I have NO RESERVATIONS in purchasing another identical case. In fact, I may get two just so I can mix it up a bit with some color variety.
In short: Best. iPhone. Case. EVER.
